I'm
Changing
Morphing
Transforming
Into something that I don't want to be
Into my worst nightmare
Into you
~o~
A frosty cold lump
Forms in my chest
Icing over my heart
And replacing it with something
Incapable of love
~o~
My heart turns to ice
But the rest of me blazes
Anger
Jealously
Hate
They consume me
~o~
Flames lick at my emotions
Permanently altering them
They shrivel and blacken
Becoming
Apathy
~o~
My humanity
Goes up in flames
Ashes drift to the ground
The last remains
Of who I once was
~o~
Evil
Seeps through my bloodstream
Contaminating the very fiber of my being
And washing away anything
That the flames might have forgotten
~o~
The fire dies down
Its job is done
But the evil remains
Completing my transformation
~o~
Who would have thought
That one little dance
Could have done all this?
A/N: The dance mentioned in the last two lines is referring to the "Dance with the Devil". Loosely based on the song Animal I have Become by Three Days Grace.
