The storm is coming time to hide

Everyone hurry get inside

Only one girl does not run away

Only one girl decides to stay

While the others cower she stands tall

For she alone hears the thunder's call

She does not heed the others cries

Instead she turns to the skies

She does not fear the wild sight

She does not fear the lightning's might

She raises her voice in one desperate plea

She calls to the storm "Come rescue me"

It answers her with a lightning flash

A flood of rain and a thunder clash

The storm bears her up away from here

One more flash to disappear

She would not live in the shelter of land

Where the longing for freedom no one could understand

So to the storm she chose to flee

And among the skies she was truly free

But when the storm comes around once more

As the skies grow dark and the clouds begin to pour

If you listen to the thunder as it crashes through the sky

You can hear far off laughter and the echoes of the storm child's cry
