It is a wake of
sorrows that disturbs my sleep and has
me wake up
from a dream where my eternal sleep centerpieced an
unvisited wake.

In slumber's hold
I felt the gentle rocking of my delta waves as
I held on to
the memory of your face while you waved goodbye to your
hold on me.

I sailed from the ways
where the selfishness we built lie anchored
to the way we
liked to pretend but that promise of release was a lie
by the way.

If it isn't too much trouble, I'd really like to have your thoughts on the poem unadultered by the explanation I give on the next page... and then your thoughts after the explanation. :)
