The World Today

We burn in flames of chaos,

the world is filled with hate.

We’ve created hell on Earth,

we sealed our own fate.

The planet is destroyed,

it withers on the edge of death.

And we all act surprised,

like we never could guess.

We knew what we were doing

when we started this mess.

With our landfills and litter we doomed the rest.

Now traffic and chemical plants

pollute out soil.

We’ve sucked the Earth dry

of minerals and oil.

And people all die needlessly,

in search of nothing,

more than greed.

They die for money, power, and land.

They die and we won’t even stand,

Won’t raise our fists, won’t lend a hand?

Children are starving

right next door.

Women are dying

up just one floor.

And we send money to Africa,

to fight poverty there?

Man fuck Africa!

Fight poverty here!

Fight for the kids

shot in schools.

Fight for hardworking

poor old fools.

Fight for the mothers

all alone.

Fight for the children

abandoned at home.

Fight for the old folks

dying in pain.

Fight for the soldiers

who fight in vain.

Fight for YOUR world today.

Fight to live life YOUR way.

Fight for the land YOU call home.

Fight for those YOU love alone.

Fight for THIS country so you can be proud to say,

“I’m a citizen of the USA!!!”
