Jack and Lindsey flew home the next week. It was kind of a weight lifted of off Jack’s shoulder’s heading home. He loved Lindsey’s family, but her dad was always watching him and it was kind of scary.

Now they had nine months to plan their wedding. And they both knew that no matter what happened, it was going to be something amazing.

-_-_-_- Eight months later.

Lindsey was distressed. Her wedding date to the love of her life, Jack Benson, was officially set for Saturday April 12th. It was March 23rd. And nothing was going right. Jack wasn’t going to be home until later in the evening because they were doing a signing in New York City and she felt like she really needed him at the moment. The caterer had gotten her order mixed up on the phone, and she went to get her dress tailor because she lost a few pounds but they made it too tight for her and so they had to fix it again. On top of that it had started out a nice day, it was cloudy out but she was in a good mood, but then everyone all at once decided to use her as their therapist and so all of their problems were bringing her down as well. But even though it didn’t seem like much was wrong, it was just one of those things where every little thing that happens suddenly combines and becomes one big fat problem and she just wanted to break.

She wanted to call Jack, she wanted to so bad and she knew that if she did he wouldn’t care what he was doing, he would take a time out to talk to her, but she didn’t want to interrupt him. Fans already gave her dirty looks on occasions, imagine what would happen if she interrupted a signing. She wondered if Ashley Simpson ever interrupted Pete Wentz at signing and stuff. And even if she did, she was famous too, so they’d be getting a two in one deal. Lindsey was just average. Sure Jack told her every day she was so much more than average, but she didn’t feel like it. Especially not today.

And as if the weather understood how she felt, the sky turned gray. She just hoped it didn’t rain because then it might make her cry.

But then she got it! The one person besides Jack who could cheer her up on days like this, Angel.

She pulled out her phone and dialed her number. It rang, and rang again but no answer came, and eventually her voicemail came on. It sounded so nice on her voice mail, you’d think she was and angel from the voicemail.

Um, Hi, This is Angel, Sorry I can’t take your call right now, but leave a message, I’ll get back to you, Bye!’

Lindsey sighed and hung up the phone. She glanced at the clock it was four thirty, Jack would be home in two hours. She sighed, leaving the window seat in the kitchen she grabbed her keys and shoved them along with her cell phone in her pocket. A walk would do her some good.

So she walked, jut letting her legs move, not really thinking about where she was going. And then it began to rain. Lindsey hadn’t brought a coat, but her legs didn’t turn around to walk back home, they jut kept going.

She was thinking about her life. It was a good life for the most part, and her dream was coming true. For that she couldn’t be happier, it was just one of those days where the weight of the world bears down on your shoulders and she couldn’t shake it off. One of those days where no matter what she didn’t feel special, or unique or pretty and she didn’t like days like these very much. Especially not so close to the most important date of her young life so far.

Maybe crying would help? Crying just got rid of everything, it was like a cleanse. So she walked to the bench in the park she was passing by and sat down, and looking up at the gray, cloudy and rainy sky she just let go and she cried for a while. And with each tear shed she felt just a little but better. But of course with the rain falling she couldn’t really tell what on her face was tears or rain. But she gave up trying to figure it out.

She heard a car door shut, but she didn’t move. It was a park in the middle of a neighborhood; someone was bound to get out of a car.

But then someone sat down next to her. She turned her head to see Jack; half soaked from the pouring rain, if he kept sitting next to her he’d be just as soaked as she was with in minutes. He scooted closer to her and rested his much bigger hand over hers.

He looked at her and smiled. “Hi.” He said just loud enough for her to hear over the rain. She smiled and moved closer to him so that their shoulders were touching, he lifted her hand and still held it tightly in his own resting it on his leg.

“Why so glum chum?” He asked leaning towards her so she could hear.

“I just missed you.” She said to him and moved the wet hair from his face and smiled. He raised his free hand and cupped her face and stroked her cheek with his thumb.

Jack stared into her pale blue eyes, how he had lived so long without them? He didn’t really know, but he knew he’d never go that long with out her again. “We should go to Vegas.” He said.

She tilted her head to the side, “Why?”

“To get married right now.” He said.

“I just spent eight months of preparing we are not blowing this in Vegas.”

Jack laughed, “Fine, I’ll wait a few more weeks.”

He stood up and pulled Lindsey up with him. And he wrapped his arms around her soaking wet body and smiled, “I love you,” he said.

“I love you too.” She smiled with her arms wrapped around his neck.

He leaned down and kissed her sweetly. She tangled her fingers in his wet hair and smiled. She was all better. Jack was the perfect remedy for anything that she needed. He always had been, always would be.

“We’re going to get sick, and then we’ll have to post pone the wedding.” She said laughing and they just stood there in the rain.

“We can’t have that can we?” He let go of her and settled for holding her. They walked back to his car and Lindsey slid into the front seat while Jack got into the drivers side.

Lindsey put her seat belt on as Jack started the car when something caught her eye. She leaned forward and picked it up.

He stared at it blankly and Lindsey looked at him and shook her head. “You had an umbrella?”

He smiled sheepishly, “I forgot?”
