Summary: Himawari Sasaki is a eighteen year old student who is homophobic and what’s worse (for his case anyways lol) is that his father and younger brother both have male lovers, Sasaki has vowed to never end up like them but little does he know that his fate will end up differently to what he expects.

Hello, I’m Himawari Sasaki

I am the oldest in my family, my mother having died when me and my younger brother were kids.

Although now my father seems to have found a new lover that makes him happier and my brother is dating…

But the only thing wrong with it is…

“Sasaki! Me and Hiroka are going now, when Chihiro and Yuuta get back tell them that dinners ready!!”

Eighteen year old Sasaki shivered, the pen that was in his hand was dropped on to the fine wooden table, it creep-ed him out, it made the caramel haired boy tremeble under the very thought even though he’s been use to it for two and a half years.

“See you later Sasaki-san!!”

Sasaki got off his chair, tip toeing around to his door, his light gold eyes peering round the corner as he heard the door slowly close shut.

Meaning that ‘they were out’

Both of them are dating guys…

He sighed, his phobia subsiding, he wouldn’t say that the people that his father and younger brother were going out with are ‘bad’ people but still it kind of terrifies him and this all started when he was in high school…

It was the first day and when he came in there were countless of people, mostly guys that would confess and try to come on to him; it scared Sasaki half to death.

When Sasaki told his dad about it, his father was over protected until he met Tsubasa Hiroka-Senpai, his younger brother’s best friend and Sasaki’s classmate.

It took Hiroka and his father a couple of arguments, fights and stand offs but somehow they became a couple in mere seconds.

It wasn’t long till Chihiro (Much to Sasaki and his father’s shock) that he was also going out with a guy called, Kagami Yuuta, who was slightly older than them and was a well known ‘rising’ actor who was about to make his day view in a movie that might be a big hit.

And now his father and younger brother have gotten into an argument…

Much to Sasaki’s dismay, he had to break them up before they started throwing cake at each other, Sasaki always found himself being the referee when it came to one of their very rare arguments, and it was usually Sasaki that would have arguments with their father not Chihiro.

At least now he was able to get some peace and quite, Sasaki wondered down the stairs and flopped himself down on to the sofa in the living room, relaxing his head on to the pillow and held the remote for the TV in his left hand.

Studying all day long would do that to someone like him who was doing a difficult assignment for his teacher.

Once Sasaki turned the television on all he saw was the news and a couple of shows, shows he already saw of course, they bored him, they were nothing but repeats.

Sasaki sighed, resting his head on to the pillow, he turned the television off also the fact that he got bored with it too quickly.

All was quiet in the house, he remembered how it was before, when his mother died, his younger brother would try his best to smile and his father tried to move on, the only thing that Sasaki tried to do was try not to cry because after their mother died he’d always cry, sleep walk and bumping into things which alarmed his father and so tried to calm him down.

However when it came apparent that both his father and Chihiro had already moved on, Sasaki found it a bit more lively around here than usual.

Now however what was starting to worry Sasaki wasn’t just the thought that the summer holidays started tomorrow but also that this summer they would always head off to their grandfathers place (who was surprisingly good looking for his old age) along with their uncles (three of them and all are hot or cute)

That was one of the reasons why Chihiro and father fought, because Chihiro wanted to bring Yuuta along and knowing ‘his father’ more than his sons, their father refused which caused them to bicker and argue.

Hence why Sasaki had to break it up, he could still recall the whole thing from yesterday…

“Absolutely out of the question!!”

The sudden pounding on the table completely caught Sasaki off guard, he stared at his father who had short, spiky hair which was coloured in a bright blond, his brown eyes showing his worry and concern.

His younger brother, who was of the ‘girly’ variety, even though he had short bright red hair and glittering green eyes, his clothes were mostly girly and Chihiro even wore girly clips and hair ornaments.

“Why not!! I’m sure Grandfather wouldn’t mind”

Sasaki got back to eating his dinner, getting the chopsticks and mixed them into his noodles, if it had anything to do with their lovers, Sasaki wanted to pretty much stay out of it.

“You don’t know your grandfather as much as I do!! I’m telling you it’s a bad idea! The answer is no!”

“Um…dinners getting cold” It was the only thing he could think off to break up the argument.

Chihiro slammed his hands down on to the table, rising to his feet and glared at his father for the first time “Why don’t you like the idea of me and Yuuta-kun going out with each other!! What’s wrong with bringing him to the family resort?!”

“Um, Dinners getting cold” again, he repeated the phrase, Sasaki felt awkward when it came to this type of thing.

“That has nothing to do with this!! You don’t know how your grand father or uncles will react!”

“Your just saying that as an excuse!”

They argued and argued and it just made Sasaki more uncomfortable “Um, you guys” both of them stopped and looked at Sasaki with cold glares, like they were at their breaking point.

“Dinners going to get cold” both of them softened their expressions on their faces and returned to eating dinner, nothing was said but there was still that unsettling awkward aura that surrounded the kitchen.

Until it became too much for Sasaki too bare, so much that he lost his appetite.

Sasaki rose from his seat, leaving his dinner half eaten on the table, wondering up the stairs.

“Uh! Sasaki-chan aren’t you going to finish your dinner?!” his father called.

“Not hungry, lost appetite” Sasaki hollered, going into his room and closing the door gently

And that was how it ended

It still left that unsettling feeling in his stomach.

“Nii-san! Nii-san are you home!?” Sasaki sighed, there goes his moments of peace, he sat up and made a yawn.

“Chihiro-chan, dad said that there’s dinner for you in the oven and there’s some for Yuuta-kun too” Chihiro peered his head around the corner; there was a look on it that kind of made Sasaki slightly disturbed.

“What? Did you bring someone else besides Yuuta-kun?” Chihiro made a gulping sound, Sasaki knew it, he got off the sofa and made his way to the hallway.

He saw Yuuta, that dark brown hair and those enchanting ruby eyes weren’t hard to spot. Still wearing that long brown trench coat and dark trousers, almost everything about Yuuta was dark and mysterious.

“Hello Sasaki-kun” he greeted kindly, there was another person with him, one that Sasaki was also acquainted with, that being another one of Chihiro’s friend’s and also another student in his class, that bring the one and only pain in the butt that had a personality of a St. Bernard dog…

Hitomu Karou

His bright blue eyes and lavender hair were a dead give away also there was the fact that he wore these novelty hats, it was also a dead give away.

“Ah, hello Sasaki-san, sorry for intruding” Sasaki narrowed his eyes, turning round and heading back into the living room, closing the door behind him.

“Ah! Nii-san! Don’t lock yourself in the living room again!”

“This happens every time we come over” Yuuta moaned

“Sorry, it’s my fault for coming over” came Karou’s voice.

“Don’t be silly, Nii-san is just a bit wary of any guy I bring home with me” Chihiro tried to explain which earned a gruff response from Yuuta again

“A ‘bit’ wary? There was this one time when I was going to kiss Chihiro and he hit me over the head with a broom, he’s paranoid”

“Uh…”

“Dad says it’s because he’s homophobic” once again, his little brother tries to explain Sasaki’s actions. Sasaki doesn’t want his little brother to be the one to explain everything he does, when they were little it was usually him now their roles are completely switched.

“Afraid of Homosexuals? Why?”

Sasaki placed a pillow over his head to drown out the noises; he didn’t want to listen anymore.

Chihiro folded his arms

“Well you see when we started high school, my brother got a lot of love confessions and most of them were from guys, there were even times where he was stalked to no end. It scares Nii-san so when me or dad come home with our boyfriends he usually runs to his room or lock himself in anywhere else”

Yuuta sighed, a look of irritation on his handsome features. “He’s paranoid, he should relax”

Karou just stood there taking in all the information like a sponge.

He didn’t want to tell his good friend or his friend’s lover but he had a crush on Sasaki for a while now, it was kind of hard to approach him because Sasaki would distance himself from everyone in the classroom.

“Oh…so that’s why Sasaki-san gets nervous” Chihiro nodded

‘That is going to be a problem…I don’t think that Sasaki-san even likes me…’

It was later on in the evening

Sasaki was in the living room, he fell asleep after preparing a third dinner for Karou, Sasaki felt a bit awkward but didn’t at all feel threatened with his classmate’s presence which was a change to what he usually got.

His brother and his friends left soon after Sasaki had a little lie down on the couch, there was a sound of the door opening, Sasaki slowly opened his eyes, hauling himself up into a sitting position, it was only then that he realised that he was covered in a blanket.

And then Sasaki remembered

‘You’ll catch cold if you don’t have a blanket’ Karou put it on him, he didn’t see him but the caramel haired boy recognised the voice.

“Sasaki-chan, Chihiro-chan, I’m home, huh?”

Something felt wrong, Sasaki could feel it in his bone, he stood up and wondered out into the hallway to see his father and Hiroka.

Chihiro’s friend and Sasaki’s classmate, he was tall, almost about Karou’s height, with dark violet hair and amber eyes, how his father and that guy ever got together only God knows.

“Naoki? What’s wrong?” Hiroka took the note that was laced in Sasaki father’s, Naoki’s hands and examined it until his eyes went wide open. “Chihiro ran away to the family resort with Yuuta and Karou?!”

Naoki was in more shock than Sasaki, Sasaki’s jaw just dropped, Naoki fainted.

“D-Dad!!”

“Naoki!” Hiroka was fast, he already caught Naoki in his arms before he could even hit the ground.

“C-Chihiro-chan has never done anything like this before…”

Hiroka gave Naoki a small tender kiss on his forehead, a shiver went up Sasaki’s spine, a small look of fear written on his face.

He wasn’t scared of Hiroka, he wasn’t scared of dad, he understood that they truly loved each other but…

Sasaki shock his head, turning to the stairs

Whatever comfort his father needed, Sasaki knew that he wasn’t the person that was going to give it to him and slowly went upstairs to his bedroom and gently closed the door.

It was really anyone’s guess what tomorrow was going to bring…

Characters

Himawari Sasaki

The main protagonist of the story, when he first started high school with his younger brother, Chihiro, Sasaki developed a fear which was later known as Homophobia, when he realises his father and younger brother have ‘male lovers’ he doesn’t know how to react and chooses to not get involved. His personality is more calm and laid back. The subject about his mother is a tough issue for him.

Himawari Chihiro

Sasaki’s younger brother by a year, Chihiro is more cheerful, considered innocent and is over protected by his father and older brother. Chihiro is aware of his brother’s phobia ever since Sasaki hit his lover, Yuuta over the head with a broom when they attempted to kiss. He is also friends with Hitomu Karou and Tsubasa Hiroka who is going out with the Himawari brothers’ father.

Himawari Naoki

The father of both Sasaki and Chihiro. Naoki is also aware of Sasaki’s phobia like Chihiro and actually at one point tried to help him through it but being occupied with Chihiro’s upcoming ‘phase’ in the story and the fact that his lover Hiroka are keeping Naoki occupied, especially since it’s coming to the family trip to the ‘Family resort’. He is also very protective of both Chihiro and Sasaki.
