The Tale of Clarence Phillip
“Take a left.” The man said into the microphone. He saw the character on the screen begin to move to the right and he spoke again, anger in his voice, “No you imbecile, left! I’ll take the right and we can meet up at the pass and overtake him.”
A man by the name of Sky One replied back, “Roger that, Obi C.P.”
As they went off into separate directions and proceeded to the pass to take down the strongest gamer online, Darth Force, Obi C.P began to prepare himself. This could possibly be the biggest battle of his life.
Obi C.P and Sky One met up at the pass, seeing Darth Force within target range. Obi C.P. gave the signal and they began to attack. As Sky One and he were about to deliver the final blows a loud screeching noise sounded.
Clarence Phillip jolted awake, smacking his agonizingly loud alarm clock. He inwardly cursed it, knowing that he couldn’t finish his dream because of it screeching so loud.
Now Clarence is what you would call an OCG (obsessive compulsive gamer). He eats, drinks, and breathes gaming. It’s even what he does for a living! Clarence is a video game tester. Day in and day out he tests the up and coming games, rarely leaving his apartment, which coincidentally is located two blocks away from the local Game Stop.
Now because Clarence doesn’t get out much and rarely eats healthy food it has taken a toll on him. Over the years you could say he has become slightly grotesque to look at. Gaming has definitely affected him.
Clarence is an overweight male, about 5 foot 5, has horrible acne, and wears huge glasses. Staring at a screen all day can do this to you. To make matters worse, his daily wardrobe consists of his long obi-robes, from the original Star Wars movie, and his green light saber.
His apartment is ten times worse. There are pizza boxes and soda cans strew all over the place. It smells very rank and Clarence would clean it, but he doesn’t have the time.
In his room alone there are at least seven computers. Also, throughout the complex he has every videogame console known to man. If you ever find a space to sit on his couch you would probably end up sitting on his never-ending collection of DVD’s. His favorites are Star Wars, and his Battlestar Galactica and Star Trek seasons.
Clarence did his daily routine and proceeded to sit at his custom built computer. He relaxed into his gaming zone and logged into “The Game”. He, Sky One, and Darth Force has unfinished business to attend to.
Sky One spoke to him. “Welcome back Obi C.P.”
Clarence replied, “Thanks, now what’s our plan? Today Darth Force will meet his makers.”
“I think we can try to ambush him at the pass. From what I’ve heard he’s gotten weaker.”
Clarence smirked as he moved his character closer to the pass. “That’s good, but it would’ve been better to have a challenge.”
Sky One and Obi C.P. drew out their light sabers, sneaking toward Darth Force’s camp.
They continued on until they came upon his tent. Obi completely destroyed it, hoping Darth Force was in there, but alas, he wasn’t.
“Where is he?” Sky One asked, in shock.
Obi C.P. replied nervously, “I have no idea! I thought he would be in there!”
A
murderous laugh sounded on Obi’s earphones, and then spoke,
“Looking for me boys?”
Obi and Sky turned, but it was far too
late. Darth Force blasted them completely to pieces. Now he had to
start from scratch again.
Clarence sighed frustrated, as he shut off his computer. This was the end of his quest, the end of an era, this was GAME OVER.
