Peace... Finally
Lay my body here and now,
Down within this cold cold ground,
And while the drum and fife a sound,
Know that I am happy now.
I have fought for many day,
Have stood my ground ne'er been afraid,
And while the Scottish Bagpipe play,
Know I rest where I will lay.
Wipe your eyes don't shed a tear,
I am peaceful, without fear,
And as those seven rifles hear,
Know I am more than stronger here.
I have marched from west to east,
Have conquered man, have conquered beast,
And in your silence say the least,
Know I am at eternal peace.
