Freedom: Part 2- Liberty

Prologue

There we stood, ten against fifty. My instincts screamed at me to run, but I didn’t. This was how it was going to end. Three vampires, a human, and six werewolves against fifty of the strongest vampires in the world, three of them who were the Hunters, and all of them wanted to kill us.

I looked around at my new found comrades and family. Everybody was bidding each other a silent goodbye as we realized that this could be the end.

I caught John’s eye and he squeezed my hand reassuringly, “Don’t worry,” he whispered, “we will all come out of this alive, well alive as we can be; after all, nothing can go wrong, we belong together.”

I nodded, trying to believe his words. Then the reality of his words hit me. John and I did belong together, forever. I whispered back, catching his lips in a fierce kiss, “In life and death, now and forever, ‘til death do we part.”

I looked toward the opposing vampires, who were prepared to fight. This was it, our only chance, our one shot, the end of it all. I spoke at the start of the battle, the words echoing through us all…

“For freedom.”
