Dead Lullaby

Hush little child, go back to sleep,

As through the night's darkness, monsters shall creep.

See the ghost in the corner, the wolf under the bed,

And listen to this, the lullaby of the dead.

One, two, three four,

Something's waiting at the door.

Don't be afraid now, just close your eyes,

You know the monster's coming, it's no big surprise.

Careful you don't sob, and careful you don't cry,

Else it'll come faster, and you'll be quicker to die.

Five, six, seven, eight.

Dear child, now you've sealed your fate.

A/N: Wow. I liiied. No, really, I did. I promised myself I wouldn't come on this site anymore about three months ago. It's a long story but I was getting paranoid about copyright. Hmm... it feels like it's been longer. Well, at any rate, here I am. I guess I missed the place quite a bit. Maybe some of you who are reading this will remember me, and maybe some won't, but I'm Isilthrar. To my old readers, heylo once more. To anyone who's never heard of me before (probably most of you) hiiii!

This isn't a new piece of mine- my old readers will remember it from a while back actually. I remember that I found it virtually impossible to trudge through this, but I must have managed it because here I am. I don't think it's too bad, but that's just my opinion.

Anywayy...

See that pretty green text at the bottom? It's real pretty. I think it's even prettier when you click it.

(is about as subtle as a charging rhinoceros.)

P.S. Despite the title of this story, I would highly recommend that you don't sing it to any children you might have.
