Hi everyone!

I just wanted to give an update on the status of “The Slave of Heaven.” I’ve gotten a few reviews and messages asking about what’s going on and I just wanted to give an update. I’m so sorry that I haven’t been able to write more but here’s what’s going on (for those who are interested):

I’m just finishing up the THIRD re-write. I’m a bit more pleased with it, although it’s hardly perfect. We get to finally see the Vampire who made Helena addicted and he’s actually a close friend of Lucien. I think this will cause great tension between Luce and Lily in the future as well as introduce a fun and more “vampire-like” character (He’s a Portuguese Vampire named Matheus Vasconcelos who comes from a long line of slave trade dealers.)

Also, I connected the “Blood Hound” (now just a Lilu) with the first Lilu/Vampire in the opening prologue. (I’m still fine tuning that). I think it ties in everything a bit more though I’m still struggling with his character.

We get a tad more Lucien time in the beginning as well as after the concert (and as my best friend assures me, there can’t be TOO much Lucien time :) I hope that’s true! Lol). I got a review some while back about how having Lucien as a “rock star” doesn’t make perfect sense since his rock star status isn’t really brought up again in this book. I think the reader had a very good point. So he’s now more of a socialite with a musician hobby—a hard core partier which will be FUN to expound on in the following books.

Somehow, and I’m not really sure how, Lily managed to gain a bit more back bone and strength, though I’m not sure when it happened. I only hope it still flows.

As for the progression of the Lilith St. Augustine series:

So here’s the deal. I do want to publish. As soon as I finish this rewrite, I’m going to be looking for literary agents. The problem is, however, I’m working two jobs, going to school, and working on my undergrad thesis (an ancient military history look into Queen Zenobia during the Late Roman Empire—for those who are curious). My thesis will be taking up A LOT of time so I won’t be able to start the second book “Let Sleeping Gods Lie” until November time (after I hand in my thesis to the board). By then I should already be looking for a literary agent but here’s what I’m going to do. IF I have yet to get a bite on a Lit agent, around Nov/Dec time I’ll start posting the second book as I write it. I may post it under another title just incase agents try looking up The Slave of Heaven or the second book. Maybe I’ll call it “Lilith: Book One” “Book Two” etc.

Something weird went on when I tried to respond to several of my reviews. Although I’m positive I sent out many, my page shows I didn’t rely to those I know I did. So I’m not sure if many of my messages went out? Has anyone else had a problem with this before? When I get time, I’ll try to write to everyone individually again so if you get two messages from me (one from before and one upcoming), I’m sorry.

If and when I get a literary agent, I promise you guys will be the first to know. I’m sorry for taking so long to write and I hope you guys are even still interested! Lol. In any event, thank you everyone for the support, reviews, and kind words. Every time I feel my courage failing or over come by doubts, I hop onto my review page and get a dose of daring and fervor.

Thank you, thank you thank you!

RyAnn Leigh Dostie
