quiet

unrelenting silence slowly driving me mad.
you were here and now you are not.
frosted brown strands lining both sides of your pillow.
the bed we shared has been untouched since your departure.
sometimes i find strands of dead skin on the clothes you left behind.
bury my face in them,
poor attempts to lose myself within your dwindling scent.

if only you would come back
if only i could taste your blood again
