Faceless Twin
My silent, faceless black twin
Stares back at me with unseeing
Eyes that wish to shed
True tears
Upon the ground we tread.
-
She would sing if she had
A voice to utter notes
To string together in a sad lament
Never voiced.
-
Into darkness she would follow
Despite her love of light,
But sadly, she abandons me,
Alone and with uncertainty,
In the darkest night.
-
If she could speak,
What would she say?
Anything and everything
As long as there are ears
To listen
And hearts
To understand.
