The Nameless Soldiers
They come, They fight, They die,
But no one seems me cry.
Our Daughters and our Sons,
Are gone when It’s all done.
They sacrifice Their lives,
Our Husbands and our Wives.
The press calls It a win,
But truly It’s a sin.
They say many were lost,
But that It’s just the cost.
They say that we have won,
By using one big gun.
They cheer for being best.
Who cries for all the rest?
The poor, the Nameless Soldiers,
Who lie now dead and gone.
The weight upon their shoulders,
Keeps them from moving on.
They carry now the burden,
Of hundreds of Lost Souls.
They’d always been so sure in,
The achievement of Their goals.
They never stopped to wonder,
How high the cost might climb.
They never stopped to worry,
About It at the time.
They simply followed orders,
And gave Their lives away.
A gift to god and country,
’Twould never be never be repaid.
And now They’re gone forever,
Barely mem’ries in our mind.
We keep on moving forward,
While They’re all left behind.
What of the sacrifice They made?
What of their kills and deaths?
With war so glorified these days,
We’d just as soon forget.
