Winter

Evening brought a bleak sky
haze laid on the horizon
grayish clouds started to fly.

Briefly they clustered together
Flakes soon emerged
downward they swayed like a feather.

They landed on earth’s soil and green grass
jointly connecting as one
expanding into a form huge white mass.

Trees limbs hung low to the ground
bending from the clinging weight
while the droplets heaped and bound.

The scenery took on a fresh new look
icicles hung from moist cliffs
Water tinkled softly beneath a frozen brook.

Night became lively with a sparkling glow
Stars softly twinkled
Moonlight danced over the shimmering snow.
