Reprobate
My hand clasped
your loose grasp, a
bitter devotion to
a bad religion, a requiem
for Nazis and for Jews
but, I still choose
to twiddle my thumbs
around yours and pray
for thoughtless effervescence.
Since I am literate
and blind, I mind
my manners and stop thinking,
watching you sink away,
every instance of
lips meeting lips calling
into question my intelligence and
with our last kiss,
I knew
you would not miss me and
neither of us gave a damn.
Stupidity simply cannot be eternal.
I have no fear of dying.
