A/N: This story is entirely made of Dougie’s POV, but there might be a few Rikki POV chapters. Short prologue.

Prologue

Congratulations dude, what are you going to do when you get back home? You going to see that chick of yours?”

I rolled my eyes at Harrison’s ignorance. Sure, I was going back to see Rikki, but after being in Military school for three years, I knew not to call them chick. Especially when the girls here could easily beat up any guy without even having to try.

In case you didn’t know, I’ve been at Military School for three years. I messed up in the past, but the final straw for my dad was the fact that I started to date my stepsister. I didn’t understand why dad would send me away for that, but I realized that after my mother’s death, I had kind of been pushing my dad’s buttons.

At first, I thought that military school was a very bad idea, I was completely miserable. I was constantly being yelled at, the food was awful, and I couldn’t contact my family as much as I wanted. When I was awake I was being trained, and when I wasn’t being trained, I would be so sleepy that I couldn’t stay awake to write any letters. Rikki is probably really mad that I wasn’t able to contact her for a while. I had some time off once and went to see her, only her, I didn’t tell Dad and Marie that I was home.

I didn’t want to face them.

I didn’t know what to say.

And I didn’t want to be around, just in case things had changed.

That’s where my story starts, when I went back home to see the love of my life…just to see that she had moved on…
