Author's Note: Hey peoplez! This is my first story on fictionpress, so please don't beat me up about how bad this might be, but i could use all the constructive criticism I can get! This is just a little story I came up with when I was drawing and decided to use it as an intro or prologue to a story I am creating. I'm not sure if I am going to put the entire story on here, because the details are still very vague, so I might just keep it as a one-shot, but I'll be sure to let you all know when I find out. That being said, read, review, and most of all, ENJOY!! =D
This story is dedicated to my loving, inspirational sister-at-heart: Alex Dunn! I love you sis! =D
Prologue: Cast Away
Long ago, before man walked this earth, when not a single living being with feet, nor wings, nor fins roamed this world, Mother Nature and Father Time brought together their uncanny wits and immense creativity, thus creating the universe. With it, came the two most beautiful specimens ever to be seen: the sun and the moon, their daughters. For many millennia they ruled over the universe and all it withheld; the great sun watching over the world by day, the moon by night. The creatures on the planets varied in shape, size, personalities, and abilities, but all were miraculous in their own way, and were there to explore the universe and its great wonders for all of eternity. All was well.
However, as is all good things in life, it could not last. After millions of billions of years, the moon, normally so calm and peaceful, became angered that all the planets revolved around the sun, as did she, and became jealous of her sister. She questioned the workings of her beloved parents and their ways, and, when they refuse to make a change, she struck out at her family. All the fury and agony that had been stored and concealed over the years exploded and caused chaos for the entire universe. The great blast sent her father flying, and time was no longer frozen, but moving, growing, aging, and the small remainder of life that had not been swept away and destroyed soon faded in time and died. But all was not lost, for before the end came to these poor creatures, they were fortunate enough have left behind another to take their place, as did that one, and the one after that, and so on and so forth for the rest of time.
Father Time was not the only one to suffer though, for he was not to blame, but the sun. The moon was so enraged that she poisoned the sun, her very own sister, infecting her with harmful gases and chemicals that, when combined, caused an explosion. And explode she did. The sun burst into a great ball of flame, scorching and burning in pain. She burned, and she burned, and she burned for thousands of years.
Mother Nature, agonized by the torture of her daughter and banishment of her beloved, became overcome with emotion and caused havoc upon Earth. The once peaceful, beautiful, perfect planet was turned to ruins as Mother Nature shaped the hills, peaked the mountains, carved the valleys, and filled the oceans. Her tantrum changed the very way of life, and continues to change it to this day, at this very moment.
This the moon did not anticipate. She hadn't wanted everyone to pay, only her sister. Sad and guilty, the moon retreated to her spot in the sky and resumed her nightly guard. After the initial shock was over, Mother Nature and Father Time devised a plan to punish their daughters for their greed and jealousy. Once again combining their powers, they formed two cages and concealed their daughters within them leaving the sun and moon dormant, mere objects devoid of the souls and powers of the two sisters. They cast their daughters away to wallow in their shame and sorrow for the rest of eternity. No one knows how long they roamed the galaxy, floating around, not really dead, yet not truly living either, before they were sucked up by the gravitational pull of a planet and brought to Earth, where they were reincarnated as two priestesses, also sisters, with the names of Kyana and Anari Uki.
So what did you think? Was it cheesy? Horrible? Wonderful? I'll never know if you don't tell me! So push that little button at the bottom of the screen and tell me what you thought of my little story, as short as it may be. Come on, you know you want to! =)
