Hey guys! I’m back with another chapter for my new story! I hope you are enjoying it! Now let’s get to this next chapter!

Chapter 2: New Faces and Places Galore!

Kayden strolled through the halls scanning the lockers. “366…366…ah ha!” She suddenly exclaimed catching sight of the number. “There it is.” She happily went up to her locker and opened it. While putting her things into the locker she began looking around. More students have begun to appear making the halls a bit more cramped. ‘Wow lots of people.’ She thought nervously but quickly pushed that aside and smiled. ‘Awesome! Which means more options to make friends!

Suddenly someone appeared beside her instantly catching her attention. It was a girl, whom was at least an inch shorter than her. She looked to be a very tiny thing, thin with a bit of a curve to her. She had short hair that barely touched her shoulders and there were blonde highlights in her hair.

“Oh I love the highlights!” Kayden gaped in awe without thinking.

“Huh?” The girl responded immediately looking at her not expecting to hear someone talking to her.

Kayden flinched slightly realizing what she had just blurted out. “Oh I’m sorry I didn’t mean to say that out loud.” She smiled. “But I just couldn’t help but admire your hair mainly your highlights. They look so good on you.”

“Really?” The girl replied smoothing out her hair slightly.

The young writer nodded with sincerity. “Yes it truly does.”

Her remark caused the girl to smile widely. “Well thank you! That’s the first time someone had actually said something since I got them.”

“Seriously? Well then these people obviously have no sense of style.” Kayden commented honestly with a smile.

Her commented caused the tiny girl to giggle. “Who are you anyway? I know we haven’t met anywhere before now.”

“I’m new here.” The writer answered nervously.

“Oh well that would explain a lot.” The girl commented with a friendly smile. She held out her hand motioning the young writer to shake it. “I’m Daisy Nelson and you are…”

“Kayden.” Kayden shook the girl’s hand. “Kayden Scot.”

“Oh wow that’s a very cute name.” Daisy exclaimed happily.

Kayden flushed slightly smiling proudly. “Thanks yours’ is very cute as well.”

The short girl giggled slightly still smiling while closing her locker. “Well hopefully I’ll see you around.”

“Same here. It was very nice meeting you.”

“Likewise.” Daisy agreed giving her one last smile before retreating down the hall.

Kayden smiled pleased with how that turned out. ‘Well that turned out better than I thought.’ She closed her locker once she had a set of supplies and went down the hall. ‘Maybe this will be a piece of cake.

Suddenly she gently bumped into somebody. “Oh sorry.” She apologized smiling warmly at the male student before going further down the hall.

The spiked brown haired boy watched her go down the hall. ‘Who was she?

“Hey Jaxson!” He heard someone call out to him. He jerked his green gaze towards his group of friends with one of them twirling a basketball on his finger. “Come on dude let’s practice a bit before our classes start.”

The tall handsome jock smiled nodding before racing pass them. “Last one to the gym is a rotten egg!” His friends laughed quickly following him towards the school gym.

Allen roughly opened his locker stuffing his things into the metal closet. A second later he sighed instinctively gazing down at the candy bar remembering the girl. ‘Wonder if I’ll see her anytime soon.’ He suddenly jerked realizing what he had just thought. ‘What the hell!?’ He scowled stuffing the candy bar back in his pocket. ‘No way in hell do I want to see her again! She’s just some stupid girl!

“Hey dude.” Allen heard a blank tired voice greet him. He turned from his locker to a toothpick like boy with shoulder length chestnut hair and brown eyes.

“Hey Frank.” He acknowledged gruffly looking back into his locker.

“Had another rough morning?” His friend questioned in assumption.

“You could say that.” He replied roughly.

“Sister being a pain as usual?”

“Yes.” He pulled his supplies out of the locker. “She just doesn’t get it.”

“Heh hardly any adult gets it.” Frank sympathized with him gruffly.

“True.” Allen agreed closing his locker. Suddenly the candy bar and the girl came across his mind and looked at his friend. “Hey have you heard any rumors going around about there being a new student attending this school?”

Frank made a face. “You honestly think I would know anything about that? You know I don’t pay attention to things like that unless it involves you and me.”

Allen sighed softly. “Figured as much.”

“Why are you even asking me that?”

He jerked as his friend pointed that out to him. ‘Good question.’ He lowered his gaze. ‘Why am I even asking that?’ Allen sighed gazing at Frank. “I literally bumped into a new girl while on my way here and I guess I was merely wondering if you knew any details about her.” ‘And surprisingly that was all true. I guess I want to see if she’s like the rest of the girls here.

“A new girl?” Frank repeated sounding surprised.

“That’s what she said.” Allen commented flatly as they strolled down the hall.

“Hmm.” Frank hummed as he thought before saying. “Well again I can’t tell ya really anything considering this is the first time I’ve heard of this.”

The black haired boy grunted with slight annoyance. “I figured that much.”

Frank then leaned towards him and asked curiously with interest. “Was she pretty?”

Allen jumped startled by the question but he quickly shot back loudly. “Iam not answering that question!”

The toothpick boy jerked back slightly not expecting that out burst, Frank watched his black haired friend storm off speeding up his pace. ‘Now what was that all about?’ He then shrugged before chasing after him. Allen ignored him grumbling as he stormed through the halls.

“Uh…” Kayden said glancing around. “I think I’m lost.” ‘Man this school is a lot bigger than I thought considering I can’t find one little classroom.’ She raised her gaze to a clock and sighed with relief. “At least I still have some time left.”

“Mm?” Something from side caught her attention. It was a wall filled with pictures frames of pass students with a banner saying “Past Class Victorians”. Curiosity came over her and strolled up to the wall and began scanning the pictures. ‘That was really nice of them to dedicate a wall all for the past class Victorians.’ She gasped softly when a specific frame caught her gaze. “Mother?”

There in front of her was a picture of a young woman whom looked exactly like her. She wore the normal graduating gowned which was purple. Kayden’s gaze fell onto the nameplate and smiled. “Riana Stone.” ‘To imagine I’m standing in the same exact school that my own mother graduated from so long ago.’ Her smiling gaze rose to her mother’s face. She then gave the picture a slight soldier solute. “Don’t worry mom I’ll make you proud!”

With that said she continued her way down the hall but groaned remembering her task at hand. “But first I have to actually find my class.”

Then an African American boy caught her attention. “Oh excuse me.” She managed to get the black haired boy’s blue gaze which were somewhat hidden behind a pair of glasses.

Kayden strolled up at him with a small smile. “Would you mind telling me where this classroom is?” She held up her schedule to him allowing him to see the classroom she was looking for.

“Oh that room.” The tall teen boy responded before pointing his thumb behind him. “It’s just straight down this hall and is the last door on the left.”

Kayden smiled. ‘Awesome! I was on the right trail.’ “Thank you so much!” She then quickly passed the somewhat muscular boy and went on her way to her class. The blue-eyed boy watched her leave curiously. ‘Never seen her before she must be new.

“Martin!” He tossed his gaze towards his short skinny geeky looking male friend. “Come on or we’ll be late for Web Page Design!”

Martin nodded. “Right.” He then followed his friend.

“I sure do love this class.” His friend exclaimed with excitement.

“You love any class that involves computers.” Martin remarked amusingly rolling his eyes.

“That’s because computers are so cool!” His friend remarked in a laughable tone. Martin just laughed. “True to that.”

Allen and Frank walked into the English room and sat in their usual spots, which was far in the back. “Come on Allen! Just what was this girl like?” Frank continued to persist wanting to get some sort of information out of him.

“Argh! Will you just shut up and drop it already!” Allen demanded loudly glaring at his friend. “I don’t want to talk about this stupid new girl anymore!”

“Whoa wait! There’s a new girl?” He heard one of his fellow male classmates say. The two looked back at their typical group of guys staring at them.

“Yeah and Allen literally bumped into her just this morning on his way here.” Frank explained.

“Whoa what was she like?”

“Was she pretty?”

“Was she a super hottie?”
Allen smacked his forehead with his eyebrows twitching. ‘I should have never brought that girl up!

BBRRINNNNGGG!

“AH!” That slight yelp caught his attention. He jerked when he saw the new girl stumbling in. ‘What!? She’s in this class too?

Kayden sighed in relief. “Just barely made it.” She took in one deep breath before heading up towards her female English teacher. “Excuse me Miss?” She caught the middle-aged woman’s hazel gaze. The young writer smiled as she explained. “Um I’m new here and…”

“Oh!” The teacher waved her finger at her. “You must be the new girl that the principle informed me about.”

Kayden nodded. “Yes and I was wondering if you could explain what’s to be expected and such in your class.”

“Oh of course but first let me take attendance and speak with the class.” She instructed the teen. “Then I’ll call you up and explain things to you that you’ll need to know.”

“Alright.” The young writer exclaimed with a smile.

The teacher waved her hand towards the classroom. “There’s only one spot left so take a seat Miss um…”

“Kayden, Kayden Scot.”

Her teacher smiled. “And I’m Mrs. John now take a your seat.”

Kayden nodded as Mrs. John retreated to her desk. The writer turned towards the class and found half of them chatting while catching some staring at her. She scanned the room searching for the spot that Mrs. John was talking about. ‘Where is it? Wow this looks to be a pretty big class.

Allen watched her. ‘So she’s a senior as well?

“Whoa! Who’s she!” He heard his group gap out. He glanced at them finding them gawking at her with wide eyes.

“Now I know I’ve never seen her before.”

“Then that must mean she’s the new girl that Allen bumped into this morning!”

“Holy cow! She’s really hot!”

Allen subconsciously glared at them before gazing back at the new girl. That’s when Kayden noticed him. ‘Oh he’s in this class too? Then it’s obvious he’s a senior like me.’ She then noticed there was an empty seat right across from him.

She gasped. ‘Oh no you’ve got to be kidding me!’ She then realized that was the seat that Mrs. John was talking about. Kayden groaned. ‘Oh jeez.’ Her gaze drifted to Allen. ‘Guess it looks like I have no choice.’ She took in another deep breath before strolling over towards the seat.

Allen slowly perked up. “Oh boy she’s coming towards us!” One of his friends gaped out.

“Well duh! There’s only one spot left open!”

“Oh this is our lucky day!”

Allen didn’t reply as the new girl continued to come towards them. Kayden stood next to the desk; she glanced at him and pointed at the desk. “Do you mind if I sit here?”

He flinched slightly surprised by her question. ‘Wait she’s actually asking me?’ But he soon snorted looking away. “Heh why are you asking me for?” He tossed her a blank glance. “Since that’s the only spot that’s available apparently.”

“Well we were on bad terms this morning.” Kayden brought up reminding him of that. She hunched her shoulder a bit looking a bit nervous. “So I was merely just making sure it was okay if I sat next to you considering this morning and all.”

Allen’s gaze softened amazed and taken back by her words. He could have sworn he felt his somewhat cold heart melt. Quickly he snorted darting his gaze towards the chalkboard. “Go right ahead I’m not angry anymore.” He glanced at her slightly. “So it’s safe for you to sit there.” ‘Though girls would usually sit there automatically without even asking me something like that.

Kayden found herself smiling in great relief. “Sweet.” She put down her things and sat down. “I was so worried that we might still be enemies. Being a new person that’s something that we fear the most, making enemies on our first day.”

“You mentioned that already.” Allen pointed out roughly leaning his chin on his palm.

“I know just felt like reminding you.” She replied cheerfully.

Allen felt himself flinch and could have sworn he could feel himself…blush? He quickly shut his eyes shaking his head slightly. ‘No! I’m just imaging things! I never blush! Not at anything especially a girl!

“So what’s your name?” He heard one of his friends ask snapping him out of his thoughts. He found his friend smiling at the new girl.

She smiled back at him. “Kayden Scot.”

“Well that’s a very pretty name.” The boy complemented with a wide smile.

Kayden blushed slightly smiling happily. “Thanks!” ‘Oh wow! I’m actually talking to boys and I’m not messing up! This must be my lucky day!

“I’m Jared.” The boy introduced and named all the guys that were sitting there. Quickly he made it to the last two. “The long haired skinny dude is Frank Hutson.”

Frank blushed waving slightly. “Nice to meet you.”

“Likewise.” Kayden nodded in response.

“And the guy sitting right next to you is Allen Roberts.” Her gaze fell on him and felt himself blush. But he quickly looked away grunting. “Heh.”

Kayden groaned with a blank expression. ‘Something tells me he’s not one for talking.

“Okay ladies and gentlemen!” Mrs. John announced loudly immediately getting their attention. “Now before we start today’s lesson, pass up your book reports that are due today.”

The students began moving around and handing up their papers. “Book reports?” Kayden instinctively looked at Allen. “You guys still do book reports?”

“Let me guess your old school never did them?” Allen questioned gruffly while passing up the papers from his row.

“Well the last time I did a book report was in eighth grade.”

“Well in this school girl…” She heard Frank speak up, “you do book reports in every single grade.”

“Yeah but for this class there’s always one due once a month.” Jared added reassuringly.

“Then that means there’s another one due next month?” The writer questioned making sure she had her facts straight.

“Heh obviously.” Allen snorted out grasping her gaze. “So if you are smart you should start reading now so you’re not rushing around to do it the night it’s due.”

Way ahead of you.” Kayden responded making a note of that in her small notepad. She looked at Allen. “Where’s the library in this school?”

“Heh I doubt you’ll be able to find much books in our library.” He commented leaning back in his chair with his arms resting behind his head. “I never found anything that interested me in our school’s library.”

“Okay so where’s the closest library in this town?” She asked him eyeing him strangely.

“In the middle of town,” Allen answered simply like it was a matter of fact.

Kayden eyed him with slight annoyance, “and that would be?”
He jerked remembering that she probably had no idea where that was. He leaned against his desk eyeing her slightly, “looks like somebody’s going to have to show you around this town.”

“Gee ya think?” She questioned sarcastically rolling her eyes.

Allen scowled softly but at the same time he found that… amusing and…cute? He shook his head slightly, ‘no! Don’t even go there Allen not even for a second!

“Okay ladies and gentlemen!” Their instructor announced catching their gazes once again. They spotted her handing out sheets of paper, “this will be your assignment for tomorrow. This is the review for the test coming up tomorrow so I suggest you begin working on it so you don’t have homework tonight.”

“Well you may luck out Kayden.” Frank assured the young writer, he caught her glance as he went on. “Considering you missed the whole lesson.”

“True,” she responded with a slight nod, ‘though I probably would have aced the test anyway, English is truly my specialty.

“Kayden?” She gazed over towards her teacher and saw her gesturing her hand. The writer took that as her cue to go by her desk.

“Be right back.” Kayden told the boys before going off towards the instructor.

“Figured that much,” Allen snorted out with a blank glare.

“Wow she really is something isn’t she?” He heard Frank say suddenly catching his gaze.

He raised a brow, “how can you say something like that when you just met her?”
Frank shrugged, “not sure. But she sure seems a bit different than most of the girls here.”

“Hmmm.” He hummed while his gaze drifted back to the new girl. ‘He does…have a point. She sure is acting differently than most girls, mainly one in particular.’ Allen’s gaze narrowed slightly, ‘but how do I know it’s not some sort of trick?

He lowered his eyes remembering the argument with her this morning. ‘Then again this may not be a trick, considering how she reacted towards me this morning.’ Allen raised his gaze slightly to watch her talk to Mrs. John. ‘This girl could really be different and innocent.’ His gaze filled with determination, ‘well there’s only one-way to find out. If I don’t then I won’t be able to concentrate on anything else that’s truly important.

“Yeah I’ll say she’s different but she could honestly bet Bailey.” He flinched when he heard Jared mention that name. “Kayden is really pretty maybe almost as hot as Bailey.”

“SHHHHH!” One of his other friends hissed at him desperately. “Don’t say that out loud!”

“Yeah if Bailey or her clones hear you you’ll be in huge trouble not to mention Kayden.”

“Bailey!” Allen suddenly gaped out loudly, 'Shit!' He caught his friends’ gazes, “have you guys even seen her today?” They stared at him oddly; he looked like he was panicking about something.

“Uh no I haven’t seen her at all this morning.” Jared answered sounding puzzled. He then looked at his friends, “though that was me. Did any of you guys see her?”
They shook their heads, “she must still be on vacation.”

“On can only hope for right now, at least Kayden will be spared for the moment.”

“You don’t honestly think Bailey will actually hurt her do you?”

“Well physically no, but remember Bailey is the status queen. So if she hears anything good about Kayden that makes her look bad Bailey will place her in a bad group where none of us can talk to her.”

A boy grimaced, “yeah I would hate to see her in one of those groups.” He gazed back towards the new girl, “I want her in a good group so we can actually talk to her.”

Allen groaned as his gaze drifted back to Kayden, watching her smile and laugh. The fact that she could be corrupted at any given moment or be placed in a group against her will, strangely made his heart sink. ‘I don’t want to imagine that. .’ It startled him to know he was actually fearing for this girl, but he just couldn’t bear seeing her sad and frowning. The thought strangely disturbed him and made him shiver. ‘There must be a way to keep Bailey and her from ever crossing paths.

BRRINNGGG

First hour had finally finished and the students herded out heading to their next class. Kayden sighed softly, ‘one class done and over with.’ She read her schedule, ‘now what’s next? Hm Algebra 2….’ Raising her gaze she began glancing around, “now where’s that room?”
The boys and Allen came out of the classroom watching her.

“I really hope Bailey isn’t here today. Kayden is so friendly and happy I would hate to see the status queen ruin that.”

Frank sighed glancing at Jared, “same here Jared same here.”

Allen groaned with his gaze narrowed with determination, ‘I have to make sure those two don’t cross paths even if it’s just for a day or two. Kayden at least deserves two days of freedom before Bailey comes and ruins it for her.

Kayden continued her way down the hall reading her schedule and raising her gaze hoping to find her classroom. “Make way! Move it!”

“Hm?” She hummed shifting her gaze down the hall. She found the students standing at the end of the hall like there was a parade coming. The young writer tilted her head with a questionable gaze, ‘now what’s going on there?

Curiosity suddenly came over her and strolled down that way and stood between two students. She gazed down the hall to find three girls marching down the hall with their heads held up with pride.

“I said make way!” A curly haired red head remarked gently shoving someone aside.

“Bailey Hoffman is coming through! So move it or we’ll make you move!” A black haired girl added roughly glaring at the students. The students immediately jumped aside as the three girls made their way through the hall.

Whoa who are they?’ Kayden wondered watching them in awe. Her gaze fell upon the girl in the middle, she was thin and beautiful! She had beautiful curly blonde hair the outlined her perfect feminine face, her eyes were beautiful ocean blue and to Kayden she was right down gorgeous! ‘Wow she looks amazing! She looks like she could be a princess or a movie star.

The three girls weren’t wearing the typical girl uniform color; instead of purple they wore a very pretty blue color. ‘Ohh I love those uniforms! They look so beautiful!

“Ugh I was so hoping she would be missing today.”

“Hm?” She drifted her gaze and gasped when she saw Daisy standing next to her. “Daisy?”
The short, tiny girl hummed questionably meeting her gaze. She smiled, “oh hello Kayden. How’s your day going so far?”
Kayden returned the smile, “oh I’m doing great! This school is amazing so far.”

Daisy gave her a small smile, “yeah this school is alright.” Her eyes shifted to the three girls and narrowed her gaze, “though it would be a lot better if Bailey wasn’t the school president.” ‘Though it would have been better if she never came here at all.

“Bailey? Is that the middle girl’s name?” The young writer asked glancing back at the blonde.

“Yes,” Daisy responded nodding her head. She met the new girl’s gaze, “and the red head is Rena Rosebud and the black head is Madison Anderson, she’s Maddie for short.”

“Those are cool names.” Kayden remarked cheerfully but gazed back at the girls. She then asked curiously, “but why are they wearing different colored uniforms?”

“That’s because Bailey is the school’s president and her two friends are like her bodyguards. So the uniforms merely tell them apart from the other students.”

“Ohh wow.” She said in amazement before looking back at the three girls. “That’s really cool.”

“No, that’s not cool.” Daisy remarked bitterly.

“Huh?” Kayden responded not expecting that one bit. “What do you mean?”

She watched Daisy stare at her sternly, “you’re new here so let me just say that Bailey Hoffman isn’t the nicest person around. She’s a major control freak and a spoiled selfish brat who wants everything to go her way and gets it.”

Kayden’s face twisted oddly which Daisy noticed and stressed firmly. “Don’t let her looks fool you, under all the beauty is an evil, ugly dragon.”

The young writer stared at the girl looking puzzled.

Allen and Frank came up behind the crowd. “What’s going on here?” Frank wondered out loud with an odd, questionable expression.

Allen snorted with detest, “I just have one guess…”

“Make way for President Bailey!” Rena called out which made Bailey smirk more with pride.

The raven-haired boy groaned in dismay, “Bailey’s back.”

Frank sighed groaning slightly. “Looks like Kayden won’t be getting her one day of freedom.” He glanced at his friend, “once Bailey sees Kayden it’s all over for her.”

Allen’s gaze narrowed, ‘no! I won’t let that happen!’ “Hm?” He lowered his gaze slightly to spot Kayden; he gasped softly, ‘Kayden!

“Move aside!” He jerked his gaze up to Bailey and noticed she was closing in on the new girl. He kept darting his eyes from Bailey to Kayden before quickly speeding up behind the young writer.

“Allen?” Frank said twisting his face in confusion.

Kayden opened her mouth to question Daisy, but suddenly yelped when someone abruptly pulled her away. “Hey!” She was about to tell the person but gasped in surprise, “Allen!?”

He didn’t stop but he quickly glanced back at her, “be quiet!” He turned his gaze down the hall, “I’ll show you around.”

“Huh?” Kayden was taken back by his words, she found this very surprising. ‘He… Allen actually wants to help me out?

“Whoa hey!” Frank called out quickly chasing after the two. “Wait up!”
Daisy blinked as she watched the three flee from sight. She arched a brow eyeing him suspiciously, ‘now what is Allen up too?

Bailey heard the sudden call and glanced to catch just a glimpse of Allen, Kayden and Frank turn down another hall. “Mmm now where could those two be going?” Her eyes suddenly narrowed, ‘and who’s the girl? Never seen her around here before.

“Allen! Why did you do that?” Kayden began questioning wanting answers. She was attempting to sound angry but was failing and sounded more shocked than angry.

Allen finally stopped and turned to face her. “I told you, I’m going to show you around.”

The writer eyed him doubtfully, “why? You didn’t volunteer earlier in our last class, you never even mentioned helping me.”

He flinched as Frank walked up looking at him questionably. ‘Yes, why did he do that all of a sudden? That really isn’t like him.

Allen narrowed his eyes, “hey I’m just trying to be considerate to make up for how I acted this morning.” He released her hand and turned stubbornly crossing his arms. “But hey if you don’t want my help I’ll just let you vend for yourself.” He glanced looking annoyed. “Just don’t come crying to me if you get lost.”
Kayden’s gaze softened and found it strange that she couldn’t stay mad at him. She sighed, “Okay I’m sorry.” He eyed her as she went on, “but I just found it strange that you suddenly wanted to help me.” She crossed her arms; “you don’t really strike me as a very helpful social person.”

Allen blinked taken back by the girl’s assumptions…they were actually right she really hit the mark. ‘Wow she seems way more observant than most girls I’ve met.’ His gaze became hard and stern; “I can be social and helpful if I wanna be I just choose not to be.”

“And this is just one of those times?” She assumed.

The raven-haired boy suddenly felt embarrassed and his cheeks turned light pink. “Yes,” but he quickly added, “but today will be the only time. So don’t go expecting me to help you any further than this.”

“Don’t worry I’m not.” She answered with reassurance.

The words sunk in before he gave her an odd questionable expression. “And that’s okay with you?”

“Yeah.” Kayden responded and added with a simple shrug, “can’t expect you to help me with everything, you have a life too. Besides,” she gave him a cocky grin, “I’m pretty capable of taking care of myself and figuring things out on my own.”
The two boys blinked, that was not the type of answer they had been expecting. ‘The last time I showed a girl around she never gave me that exact answer and persisted that I helped her.’ Anger slowly came over him as bitter memories flew back into his mind. ‘And look where that decision got me.

“But of course if I need help I’ll just ask someone else.” Kayden went on shrugging like it was no big deal. “And that really shouldn’t be too hard.”

Allen jerked not just because of how much her words surprised him, but also because of how they made his heart drop. The thought of her asking someone else for help, maybe even another male, infuriated him a bit. He almost wanted to rephrase himself but his pride stopped him.

Come on Allen get a hold of yourself! So what if she asks another person to help her it doesn’t bother me. Besides you don’t even know if she’s trustworthy yet.’ He shook his head and responded trying to sound pleased, “good then we’re on the same page.” He held out his hand, “now let me see your schedule.”
Kayden nodded handing him her schedule. Frank watched the scene in bewilder, mainly at his friend. This certainly wasn’t how his friend would usually act; when it came to new people he avoided them like a plague. But when he did encounter them he would act all moody and bastard like that they would back away and never confront him again. However this time, he was acted almost the complete opposite, sure he was still being a bit moody and trying to act like a bastard but it wasn’t working all that well.

Frank moved his gaze to the new girl. “I have Algebra 2 next.” Kayden informed him softly. ‘You know he seems to look and act all tough who pretends he doesn’t seem to care about things. But something tells me that’s not all true.’ She tilted her head as she studied his appearance, ‘I don’t know what it is but I have this gut feeling there’s more to him than meets the eyes.’ The writer quickly lowered her gaze immediately thinking that was crazy. ‘Okay now that’s just weird I’m probably just imagining things. I do tend to have an overactive imagination.

“Heh well first off you were heading the wrong way.” Allen spoke up roughly sounding amused.

“What?” She replied meeting the tall boy’s gaze.

He glanced at her and pointed down the hall. “You were heading in that direction, but that’s not where the room is.” He pointed ahead of them, “and the room is this way.”

“Seriously?” Kayden commented with surprise. She then murmured, “Wow I really would have gotten myself lost.”

“Then be glad I volunteered to help.” Allen grunted out in a cocky manner. “Or else you’d have been wondering around these halls confused and lost.”

The writer grumbled glaring at him. “I highly doubt that.” She then asked curiously, “do you have that class?”

Allen shook his head, “No I’m in a higher math class.” He pointed at his friend, “but Frank does.”

She suddenly smiled happily, “really?”

Frank jerked blushing but smiled, “that I do.”

“Wow how lucky is that?” Kayden commented with a slight happy chuckle.

“Very lucky I must say.” Frank replied cheerfully.

Allen scowled softly strangely feeling a slight pin of…jealousy? He quickly shook his head and went down the hall. “Come on let’s keep going or else we’ll all be late.” He tossed the young writer an annoyed glance. “And I’m sure you don’t want that on your shoulders do you?”

Kayden groaned angrily, she knew he as mocking her. “Well if you keep acting like that and I will make you late.” Allen was once again taken back by her words as she walked pass him.

He watched her walk away from him. ‘Whoa that was not the reaction I was expecting to hear at all.

“Wow.” His gaze drifted to his friend as he appeared beside him. Frank met his gaze, “she sure is a feisty one that’s for sure.”

Allen groaned, “oh shut up don’t make assumptions when you’ve only known her for an hour or so.” He watched his friend jerk before strolling after the new girl. ‘But I must say this is quite interesting.

School went by fast, which seemed like the speed of light and soon it was over.

“Wow never thought this day would go by so fast.” Kayden commented a bit amazed before gazing at Allen whom was walking beside her. “And to imagine we had almost all the same classes together.”

“Yeah that was very weird.” He then muttered, “not to mention scary.”

“But I thank you though for today.” The young writer thanked with a cheerful, warm smile.

Allen immediately blushed and quickly grunted looking away. “Heh don’t get too use to it.” He tossed her a blank glare; “I was just merely helping you out this one time, nothing more.”

“I know.” She tilted her head smiling in an adorable manner, “and it was very helpful.” She then giggled, “Now tomorrow I won’t have to worry about getting lost.”

He was startled at how much that action made his cold heart pound warmly. Allen then snorted muttering out, “one can only hope.” ‘But at least she didn’t encounter Bailey today. I know I won’t be able to keep this up for long.’ He watched Kayden, ‘but she had her one day of freedom and her one day to actually enjoy this school.’ His gaze narrowed, ‘until Bailey comes and maybe ruins it for her.

Kayden then remembered something, “hey?” Allen’s gaze followed her as she moved in front of him and began walking backwards. “Can you now show me where that library is?” But she quickly added waving her hands slightly. “Though that’s if you’re not busy! If you’re busy or don’t want to I’ll understand.” ‘I really don’t want him getting mad at me again.’ She then ruffled her hair slightly; “I guess I could always explore the town this weekend.”

He sighed shaking his head; “no I’ll take you there.”

“Wha really?” The writer responded meeting his gaze in surprise. She then eyed him curiously, “are you sure?”
He eyed her like she was crazy. “Uh yeah I’m sure it’s not like I have anywhere particular to go.”

“But you don’t have to show me if you don’t want to.” Kayden reassured him not wanting to get on his bad side.

Allen blinked surprised by her words once again. ‘This girl just keeps on surprising me, and it takes a lot to surprise me that I know for sure.’ His gaze narrowed a bit, “I want too. Don’t make me repeat myself.”

Kayden flinched slightly gazing at him in awe she wasn’t expecting that answer. ‘Wow I thought he would actually refuse.

Allen found this very strange and startling, he actually wanted to help and show her around. That certainly was new; he never wanted to do things like this before. ‘Well this gives me another chance to see how she’s like outside of school.

The young writer found herself smiling, ‘maybe there is more to him than meets the eyes, more than he’s leading on or wants people to know.’ “Okay,” she returned to his side and motioned her hand forwards. “Lead the way.”

He arched a brow eyeing her oddly but continued walking. “Whatever.”

Kayden watched him with a smile, ‘and if he’s allowing me to see glimpses of those things then he must like me, even if it’s just a little since it just means we are becoming friends.’ She smiled with glee and happiness, ‘yes! Victory is mine!

“Whoooaaa.” Kayden commented admiring the slightly big, two story brick building.

“This is it.” She heard Allen and glanced at him. He stood next to her and was looking at her, “the town’s only library.”

“Oh wow!” She gazed up at the building in awe. “It’s wonderful!” ‘Now I know where my new favorite hangout’s going to be.

Allen stared at her strangely, ‘she actually thinks a library is wonderful. Heh the only girls I’ve heard say that were the “geeky” bookworm girls.

Kayden immediately grabbed his hand and raced towards the door. “Hey!” Allen yelped out loudly surprised and reddening at the sudden action.

“Come on!” She ushered smiling back at him, “I wanna see what books are here!”
The raven-haired boy just gazed at her with wide eyes. ‘That was not the type of reaction I was expecting at all. She is most certainly a strange one.’

A figure peeked from behind a tree, they were chatting on a cell phone. “I have him in sight.”

Good, now just watch him and find out who that blasted girl is! Find out what she’s doing with him.” A feminine voice instructed firmly.

The person nodded, “right.” The person then hung up and followed the two inside the brick building.

“Wow! Look at all these books!” Kayden exclaimed with wide happy eyes. She eyed the long rows of shelves filled with books; she then gazed at them dreamy like. “Ah this is a dream come true.”

Then without a second thought she raced towards the shelves and pulled a book off of the shelf. She began scanning the book with glee. Allen followed as she picked another one out. “Oh wow this one looks good.” He watched her as she scanned another book before going to a different shelf. “Aw this one looks good too!”

“Ah this one too!”

Allen sweat dropped as the young writer hopped from shelf to shelf scanning each book she pulled out. ‘She’s acting like a kid in a candy store.’ He kept his eyes on her noticing how much her eyes and face glowed brightly as she scanned from book to book. ‘She sure is enjoying being here that’s for sure. Never thought I’d see a girl like her glowing so much at the sight of books.

“Oh cool! Hey Allen?” He focused on her as she came up to him; she was holding a black book. She smiled. “Look at this one?”
Kayden held it out to him; Allen eyed her suspiciously before taking it. He raised a brow, “The Most Haunted Places on Earth?” He gazed at her questionably, “you’re actually into things like this?” ‘I only know of one girl who’s into this type of stuff.

“Not exactly, but it’s a pretty good place to get information.” ‘Especially when it comes to stories and story ideas.

The raven-haired boy raised a brow confused, “information for what?”
Kayden fidgeted slightly, ‘oh crap! I said too much!’ She quickly shrugged, “well…to make up ghost stories to scare people.” She giggled weakly smiling cheerfully, “it’s always hilarious to scare people with stories you make up from those.”

Allen eyed her suspiciously not really buying her words. ‘That really wasn’t very convincing so something tells me she’s lying.’ He sighed deciding to drop the subject, “but I doubt you can do a report on this.” ‘That really isn’t any of my business nor is it business I want to know or get involved in it.

She sighed with relief at the fact he was dropping it. “I know.” She took it from him and placed it back on the shelf, “I was merely just showing you it.”

The teen boy watched her oddly but shook his head. “Okay can you please pick a book?” Kayden glanced back at him to see him scratch his head slightly. “I really don’t have all day to stay here looking at books.”

“Oh!” She quickly turned to him panicking slightly, “did you have something else going on? I’m sorry if I did I wasn’t trying to keep you from it.”

“No you weren’t keeping me from anything major like work or something.” He reassured her rubbing the back of his head. “I just have some homework and studying I need to do for tomorrow.”

“Oh right.” Kayden replied in understanding before looking back at the books in her hands. “Now which one will it be?” She hummed as she pondered this before putting the second book back and smiled at him. “Okay now let’s check this baby out.”

Allen nodded which signaled her to start heading to the desk and he followed close behind. Suddenly the same person from outside peeked through the shelves, she grumbled watching them leave. ‘That certainly didn’t tell me much. Just what are you up to Allen?’ She quickly followed them.

“Can you make it home from here?” Allen asked the new girl coming to a stop to the place they first crossed paths.

Kayden nodded still smiling brightly, “most definitely. Thank you again for today I really appreciated it.”

He blushed and snorted out roughly, “heh well don’t go expecting me to help you with anything tomorrow.”

“I know I won’t.” She responded truthfully but then asked cautiously, “but I can still talk to you right?”

The raven-haired boy flinched at her question. “I uh…” ‘I don’t know.’ He lowered his gaze, ‘it all depends on Bailey.’ He sighed and met her gaze once again, “we’ll see, maybe.”

“You don’t still hate me do you?” Kayden questioned him finding his answer a bit strange.

“No, no I don’t hate you.” Allen answered her honestly, ‘and really that’s the truth, I don’t hate her.

The young writer raised a brow gazing at him oddly, “then why won’t I be able to talk to you tomorrow?”

He just released a soft breath before answering. “You might see tomorrow.”

She just gazed at him puzzled as he walked away from her not saying anything more than that. ‘What does that mean?

The person peered from behind another tree, ‘so Allen was helping her with something?’ The red head suddenly jumped when she heard her phone going off. “Hello?” She answered with her heart pounding anxiously.

Don’t follow them anymore.” The feminine voice told her.

“Hm? Why? I didn’t even get to figure out who the girl was?”

Don’t worry Rena.” She heard the girl grunt out a chuckle. “I’ve found out whom that darling girl is and I think tomorrow we’re going to pay her a visit.
