Liz sighed, ruffling her golden hair around. She recently got it cut and layered to her shoulders, completely different than the length it used to be at. So yeah, she got a habit of messing around with it.
She leaned on her desk, fingers tapping so fast that she could’ve made drummers jealous with the serious chops she got from her excitement…and well, anxiousness.
After this day, it would be Spring Break, and hey, her little brother and parents would be gone.
Plus, her best friend Belle’s family who was extremely good friends with her own would be taking Belle’s little sister with them as they went to Disneyland for the first time.
This obviously meant that the two soon to be juniors alone for the spring break.
Ah, of course, not like they would throw a party or anything, seriously. Liz was a dork anyways, all she did was play computer games, or any video game, and Belle was a music-obsessed…eh, musician.
Liz doodled on her desk, wanting to throw off her black Pokemon sweater with a simple Pikachu on the front, and change into shorts.
She didn’t know it was going to be this hot in the afternoon, and should’ve worn a shirt instead of a tank top, since those were against the stupid dress codes.
And was worst of all aside from the broken AC, the open window letting the heat come in, was that her last class for today was World Civ.
God, she hated history! Boring much?
She couldn’t wait to get on the bus, save a seat for Belle, get home, say bye to her family, and have the beginning night of fun for the next two weeks.
FINALLY, at last, the bell rung, and students sprung up instantaneously from their seats and sprinted out the door.
“Class,” their teacher added as everyone exited, “Have a fun break!”
Liz grinned and the girl picked up her bag, and exited into the air conditioned hallway. She found a few of her friends, and waved bye to them as she walked out the hallway and down the stairs, exiting one of the many buildings in her school.
She stepped out of the nice, cool building into the hot sunlight, and once again regretted her choice of a tank top AND a black sweater.
Grimacing, she made her way through the clusters of students, easing her way towards the south end of the school, where the busses were.
After a few minutes of walking, she got in the bus, and got an open seat. Unfortunately, the bus was usually stuffed, and the body heat made it unbearable. Also, her bus happened to be an old fashioned bus, with no AC and only windows.
Just her luck.
Liz crossed her arms, and bit her check, looking out the window. Wait a minute, she thought. School was over…
Rolling her green eyes, Liz pulled off her sweater, feeling much better when a cool breeze brushed against her skin.
“Hey you,” Liz heard a voice next to her, and grinned when her best friend was in her vision, sitting her butt down in the seat.
“Hi me too,” Liz said goofily.
Belle laughed, running her hand through her hair. “Sure is hot today, weird…” she thought out loud.
“Indeed, my dear friend. So, what do you wanna do tonight?” the blonde asked.
“Uhhhh, scary movie?” Belle offered, and Liz grinned, nodding.
Belle looked down at the black sweater in Liz’s hands, and looked dumbfounded.
“What?” Liz asked innocently.
“Are you crazy? You wore a sweater today?!” Belle said, shocked.
“Eh, I didn’t know it was gonna be hot!”
“That’s why you check the weather!” Belle lectured.
“Awww, who does anyways!”
“I do! Doofus, you might get a heat stroke, especially since you can’t wear tops like that! Jeez, I wish you were more prepared,” Belle said. Liz smiled, and put an arm around her brown haired friend.
“Aww, you still love me and my non-sweaty and non-smelly pits,” she joked.
Belle rolled her eyes, pushing Liz away, “Ew, you dork you’re gross!”
Liz laughed whole heartedly, oh man, did she love her best friend.
-
When the bus pulled up at their drop off spot, the two realized they’d have to walk about five to ten minutes till they reached Belle and Liz’s street.
Of course, they’re houses were across from each other, which was pretty cool for the two best friends.
“Maaan! I’m so excited! The money our parents are leaving us together is about 700 dollars! Dude! I’m sooo buying Dead Space!”
Belle rolled her eyes, “Uh, no spending money on the video games. Its strictly for eating, and other stuff we might have to use it for.”
“Buuuut!” Liz whined. “Shush, little one. Let your mama handle the money,” Belle said with an evil look in her eye.
“Like you’re gonna actually save it,” Liz muttered, while fiddling with her sweater to make it into a ball.
The brunette laughed, and shrugged. “Who knows, I might wanna go buy some service from the corner, if you know what I mean,” she said, elbowing Liz.
The blonde girl scratched her chin, “Eh, get me one too!” she complained.
The two giggled, and looked around. For some reason, their neighborhood seemed a bit quiet. Unusually quiet.
Usually, their neighborhood had dogs running around, kids chasing each other, adults mowing the lawns and doing stuff to their house on Fridays, but today was different.
It seemed…a bit dead.
Liz shrugged to herself, not caring.
“Are you listening to me?” Belle asked, her brown eyes glaring at Liz.
“Uh, honestly, no,” Liz said, and Belle jabbed her at her side.
“Whaaaat?” Liz asked.
“Did you watch the news yesterday?”
Liz shook her head, why the hell would she even turn on the tv to just WATCH?
“Well, anyways, there’s this epidemic sickness spreading around, and like, It made thousands of people sick in the east. There was like, a toxic spill of some sort…and it got into the water system,” Belle explained.
Liz absent mindedly nodded, and let out a ‘hmm’ to even go with it. Toxic spill? Eh, sounded a bit…unusually common. Like, common in movies.
Eh, she really didn’t want to have to go New York this summer if everyone there was going to be vampires or cannibals or something…
Then again, it’d be sorta fun…
“I hope they get better, and not too sick though,” Liz added. Thousands, or even millions die because of an accident? That sorta just sucks. She can’t even get that many kills in Grand Theft Auto!
“Yeah. Oh yeah, after our parents, Kyle, and Ren leave, I’ll go get my stuff at my house and we can watch the movie, kay?” Belle, said, as the two friends arrived at Liz’s house.
“Mmmkay!” Liz chirped, and opened her door. At the front, there were suitcases laid out, and two families were chatting in the living room.
“Mom, dad, we’re hoooome,” the two said in unison.
“Oh! Liz, Belle! We’re about to leave…but we made sure to write all the emergency numbers and put it near the phone,” Belle’s parents said, pointing towards the main house phone and the two nodded, “and here’s your two week’s worth of money. Remember, this is only meant for food!” they added.
“And no boys!” they said at last, and Belle and Liz both rolled their eyes at that. Why would I need boys if I have Liz? Belle thought, and secretly smiled to herself.
It was a while ago when she had realized she had feelings for her dorky gamer best friend, and had already told her parents, who accepted the musician’s preference. Plus, they told her she had good taste, since Liz was an honest young lady in their eyes.
“So, I hope you two spend some quality time together,” Belle’s mom said, grinning at her. Belle’s face flushed and she glared at her snickering parents, and in turn blushed even more when Liz’s parents smiled knowingly.
Liz scratched her head, and crossed her arms, “I don’t get it.”
Footsteps could be heard running down, and Liz saw her brother Kyle running down. “That’s cause you’re stupid Lizzie,” he said, and stopped for a moment to let a younger girl, Ren, Belle’s sister, catch up.
“Ugh! Mom! Dad! How can you condone such language in this household?” Liz complained while pouting.
Liz’s parents rolled their eyes, “Shush Elizabeth, he’s right.”
“Blaaah!” Liz shouted, covering her ears and sticking her tongue out. Belle giggled, and muttered to the adults, “God, I’m in love with an idiot…”
“Tell me about it,” all four of them muttered at once. Liz saw that information was just exchanged, and uncovered her ears, and tilted her head. “What?”
“Nothing, silly billy, so anyways, here’s the money,” they gave to Belle, since Liz couldn’t be trusted with the valuable paper.
“And now we are off!” Kyle yelled, getting his backpack, and Ren followed him.
“Wait a minute!” Liz said, chasing after her little brother to ruffle his hair and give him a wedgie and a kiss. “I’ll miss ya little brother,” she said, and he nodded.
“Bye Rennie-poo” Liz said to the little brown headed girl, and she nodded, smiling. “Bye Lizzy, bye Belly!” the short brown haired girl said, and ran back to hug her older sister.
“Come on, mommy! I wanna see Goofy!” Kyle complained, and Liz’s parents started to grab their luggage after hugging and kissing both of the teenagers and saying their last goodbyes.
“Bye kids, be safe now!” they said, before shutting the door. A few minutes later, the van they used was out and the two girls we’re left alone.
“Sooooooooo,” Liz said, clapping her hands.
Belle, blushed, deciding that it was time to start making her moves. Hell, Liz’s parents knew that she loved the blondie, and the way they looked at her reassured her that she had a chance if she acted upon it.
“So Liz-“ Belle started, but was interrupted by Liz who shouted a long ‘wooooohooooo’, and pushed Belle out the door.
“Go go tiger! Get your shit!” Liz said, and added “I’ll get the stuff ready and call for pizza! Its gonnaaa be a scary movie night marathon!”
Belle smacked her face, getting to the one-way-tracked girl was going to be extremely, extremely complicated.
“Ughhh, fine!” Belle sighed, and walked out, shutting the door a bit louder than usual.
“Eh, PMS much?” Liz muttered, before running off getting the movies ready.
-
Belle walked into her house, and went to her room. Since Liz was right across the street, all she needed was clothes for tonight, and she could come back if she needed anything.
Hmm…how can I give my blondie a hint… Belle pondered. She chosen scary as their theme for movies tonight, obviously wanting an excuse to cling onto her…
The weather did say it was going to be pretty warm tonight anyways…
The brunette sat on her bed, looking around. Her room was a dark blue color, her piano on one side, next to an alto saxophone, two guitars, an acoustic, a uke, two bass guitars, two of her favorite violins, a cello, and her own drum set. Then squeezed in was her little microphone-recording set, headphones, her laptop, amps, guitar pedals, tuners, picks, cleaning oil, and her wardrobe.
In other words, her room was stuffed. Plus, there were cases in her closet, so all she could fit was her jackets, and everything else was compacted in her wardrobe.
She stepped over her precious instruments, and towards her drawers, and pulling open her pajama one.
Tonight, she needed to look cute, and if she needed to, a bit sexy.
Belle smirked, and chose blue short shorts and a thin black tank top. Since her chest wasn’t really that big, but not completely flat, she decided to skip out on a bra tonight.
She went to her bathroom, and put down her medium length straight brown hair, and ruffled it a bit, earning her ‘slightly sexy’ look.
Getting her stuff, she slipped into light blue ankle socks and shoes and ran back to Liz’s house after locking her own house door.
“Tonight is the day Elizabeth shall be mine…” she muttered, grinning hopelessly.
Across the street, she saw Liz open the door, who was grinning and wearing her own pajamas already, which were girl boxer-ish shorts, a bit longer than Belle’s own, and a dark blue Pixel Megaman t-shirt.
“Dude, hurry up! I already ordered two boxes of Hawaiian pizzas!” Liz yelled across the street.
“Yeah, yeah,” Belle muttered and was about to run across the street when suddenly, sirens started to echo through their neighborhood and an ambulance sped on their street and screech at a stop at a house a few doors away from Liz’s.
“Eh, weird…” the brunette muttered, feeling a shiver running down her spine, before running to Liz’s arms…er…house.
“Creepy!” Liz grinned, and shut the door, making sure to lock it. Hey, teenage girls alone in a house? Better be safe!
The sun had already started to pitch a bit low on the setting side, so the girls knew that it was time to start their night as the sky turned orange-ish red.
“Dude, these two weeks are gone be freakin awesommmmmeeee!” Liz said. “Too bad we really can’t throw a party, since all of our friends left on that two week France Trip thiiinggg,” Liz said.
“Liz!” Belle scolded, pinching Liz’s arm.
“Wahhht? Its true!” she complained, glaring her green eyes into Belle’s chocolate brown ones.
Ahhhomgshe’s so cuuuute, Belle thought, having her heart skip a beat, or trip on a rock or something, and shook her head, rolling her eyes.
“Eh, get comfy Belly,” Liz teased, and slapped Belle’s belly, and ran off to her basement, where her ‘cove’ was.
Yeah, Liz lived in her basement, since all her videogames were in there, her little sleeping corner which the most comfortable mattress, her 52” HD 1080 TV, the best couch ever, and a mini fridge with juices, sodas, and water.
Plus, the walk in storage closet became her own, and it had all her clothes and some of Kyle’s baseball gear since they had no where else to put it in.
Belle followed her, throwing her clothes down on Liz’s mattress, and was about to pick them back up to change in Liz’s closet, but then a wicked Idea popped into her head.
Grinning, she proceeded to take off her shirt, right in front of Liz, who was about to turn around to make a joke to her, who froze wide-eyed at her, as Belle took off her shirt, followed by her bra.
I guess mom and dad we’re right, I think my Lizzie needed a push… Belle thought, as Liz quickly put her hand to her eyes. “W-why are you changing here!?” the girl asked, her face flushed a crimson red.
“Am I that ugly? Plus, we’ve bathed with each other before when we were younger doofus,” Belle grinned evily, she enjoyed the blush she was forcing onto the blonde.
“But! You…we…grew up ….and…your boobs…eh…visible…nipples…and whatnot…” Liz stammered.
“Hmm? I don’t bite though, Lizzie…” Belle said, while pulling off her pants and replacing them with the clothes she brought. “You can take your hands off your eyes now,” Belle said, kicking her clothes into a corner.
Liz nodded, and gulped, obviously staring at Belle’s body with a certain hunger that Belle easily understood.
She liiiiiiiikes me toooo! Belle said in her head, giving herself a giant smile.
“Y-you’re weird…” Liz muttered.
“YOU’RE TELLING ME THAT!” Belle scoffed. Liz gave her a bright smile, “I’m sorry I don’t go giving my friends strip shows!”
“You’re not just my frieeend, stupid!” You’re my future valeeentine, my piccck up line, my honeeey booo, my loooooooooverrrr… Belle sung in her head, not caring if it was an actually song or not.
“Duh, I’m your best friend. So do I get lap dances too?” Liz asked, and Belle threw her shoe at Liz.
-
The two had inserted the first movie in Liz’s PS3, and were watching the stereotypical scary movie where someone dies in the beginning or sets off the killer.
Okay, gotta plan this smoothly. Do I do the yawning thing? Eh, no…grab her shoulder? Hmm, I’ll start off with that…
As soon as the first scary scene hit, Belle immediately followed her plan, and grabbed Liz’s arm, curling more closer to her best friend, who grinned. “Wow, this is awesome…” Liz said with a scared smile on her face.
“Eh, y-yeah,” Belle said, shaken but glad that Liz didn’t suspect anything. Wait, that’s what she wanted! Belle sighed, softly, right at the part when a girl luckily doesn’t run into the murderer.
“I know!” Liz said, agreeing with Belle’s sigh. Such an idiot…
Next move now, since I’m basically hugging her, maybe I can push her over and lie down on her, and snuggle/’hide away from the tv’ with her…yes…good plan…
Of course, as well timed as the last one, Belle managed to push Liz over a bit so they were lying on the couch, and Belle hid on Liz, giving a fake scream. Good good…
“Holy shit!” Liz said, obviously freaked out too, but grinning about it. “This is scary!” Liz agreed once again thinking that Belle was freaked out too.
Belle sighed, and buried her head against Liz’s neck. Jeez…we could have two whole weeks of rabbit-love-making madness…eh, not really, but something amazing If I could just tell her…
Eh, maybe I should just come out with it.
“Liz-“
DING DONNNG! The bell echoed out through the house, and Liz jumped up, grinning.
“Alright, Pizza’s here!” the blonde shouted, grabbing enough money for tip and to pay, and ran her ass upstairs.
Belle sat there, her hair a bit messy still, with her eye twitching. “OH MY GOD.” She said.
-
An hour later, after one box was finished and halfway through their third movie after endless chatter, Belle felt full, but then she realized something.
“Ah crap, I forgot my tooth brush!” she said, smacking her head, remembering she went in the bathroom to fix, or, mess up her hair.
Liz looked at her, and laughed. “We have extras?”
“Nah, Billy is unreplacable,” Belle said, and Liz raised an eyebrow. “You named your toothbrush?”
“I like my toothbrush! And my toothpaste. Lemme just go brush my teeth really quick!” Belle said, getting up.
Liz nodded, and Belle slipped on her shoes and ran upstairs, and she could soon hear her front door open and close, but not all the way.
Rolling her eyes at Belle’s extreme hygiene issues, she followed to go make sure her best friend would be alright running in the dark, even though she was just across the street.
Come on, they just watched two scary movies and were on their third; who wouldn’t be paranoid?
Liz leaned against her front door, watching Belle run into her house, even forgetting to close her door.
Liz was about to run across over too, to scare her best friend while she had a chance and close it herself, when the phone rang.
The blonde shrieked and jumped, “Ohmyjesus,” she said, putting her hand to her heart. She closed her door, and ran into the kitchen, and picked it up.
“Yeah?” she answered.
“Liz?! Oh god, thank god you’re alright!” her mom weeped over the phone.
“Huh? Why?” she asked.
“Honey, turn on the TV in the kitchen. Look at the news, right now. And don’t ask about us, we’re at a military base already. We were lucky that we’re near one when the radio stations started to broadcast Emergency Station”
Military base? Are we being attacked by something? Liz asked herself, but felt scared.
She picked up the remote, and almost dropped the phone.
“As it seems, the toxic spill in the east seemed to create a reaction, or mutation, in those infected with it. The water got into those going on plane trips, and now this virus is around in several countries; however those infected in other countries seem to be contained. However, it is a nation wide crisis, as the infected seem to die, and come back to life, feeding on live flesh of humans. This is a nation wide crisis, and please, stay inside your homes!” the reporter said, and the camera showed different videos of the ‘infected’…or the undead.
“Jesus Christ…” Liz mumbled, barely hanging onto the phone.
“Liz?! Where’ Belle!?” Belle’s parents shouted out the receiver. “Belle…shit!” Liz said.
“WHAT!? WHERE IS SHE! LIZZIE, IS SHE OKAY?!” They screamed, on the edge of tears.
“No! She went back to your house…and…her teeth…crap! I’ll go check on her!” Liz said before hanging up on the phone.
She stayed just a moment to hear the end of the news report, “And this disease has spread onto the west through airlines, so please, stay inside your home! If not possible, head to the nearest military base, police station, hospital, or even city hall!”
Shit.
Liz ran downstairs to get her shoes and pulled on a sweater, and grabbed her Dad’s steel baseball bat in the closet.
She had to thank Kyle for wanting to play baseball, roping her dad in it too.
She went outside, and bit her lip in realization, as she saw that lights were on in her neighbor’s houses, and looking at their windows, and some even opened them to yell at her to stay inside.
She ignored them and looked to the side, even more scared since the ambulance that arrived hours ago was there earlier was still there.
Her heart almost tore into pieces when she saw that Belle’s front door was still open!
“That idiot,” she muttered, and closed her door. Looking around, seeing that the coast was clear, she ran across the street quickly, ignoring her neighbor’s pleas for her to get back inside.
She ran into Belle’s house, seeing as the whole downstairs was dark. She didn’t even turn on the light, Liz thought, before closing the door.
She heard no sound, no movement, so she closed her eyes to calm herself. This is like Resident Evil…shit…
She opened her eyes, and snuck through the dark. Honestly, she had no idea where the lights were, so she kept her guard up. The moonlight gave her enough light for her path to be visible, as she crept through the empty house.
She bit her lip, when she saw blood smeared on the wall going upstairs, and hoped to god it wasn’t Belle’s.
Clutching the bat tight, she held her breath, looking up the stairs, there was a dim light, and out of the silence, she heard banging against the door.
She quietly crept up the stairs, and looked, and saw a man through the cracks of light through the door, obviously…infected.
After playing every Resident Evil game, Left 4 Dead, and Dead Rising, she could sure as hell tell that the man was a zombie. The thing was banging on the door, obviously wanting Belle…which meant Belle was safe!
Liz sighed in relief, and crept behind the dead man. She closed her eyes, right as the zombie thing started to turn around because it smelt her, and smacked the back of his skull with the metal bat.
The dead thing fell to the floor, possibly dead, but she didn’t want to take chances and hurried knocked on the door.
“B-belle!? It’s Liz!” Liz said, frantically, and the door opened to find a completely pale, red-eyed from crying, Belle.
“Shit,” Liz cussed, lying the bat against the doorway frame and wrapping her arms around Belle. “You scared me, idiot…”
Belle, hugged Liz tightly, but then let go. “We should, get to your house. I’m scared of this house…” Belle said.
Liz smiled, and had to break the moment. This was just like a video game, and right now it felt like one…so she laughed. “Did you-“
“Yes, I brushed my teeth,” Belle muttered, giving Liz a smile. Liz grabbed the bat, and put her hand on Belle’s back, and looked at the body on the floor.
Blood seeped out onto the carpet, and Liz felt guilt…but that thing wasn’t human.
Crap… Liz thought, shutting her eyes, and leading the way downstairs.
“Get…get everything you need,” Liz quietly said, eyeing the body, and turning on all the lights. Belle quickly nodded, running to her room and getting her suitcase, backpack, and duffel bag.
Belle ran through all of her, trying not to break down. Not yet, sure, she was as scared as…more than anything.
What the hell was that thing?! She thought, as she managed to stuff everything she owned in the suitcase and putting her valuable jewelry in a tin can and into her backpack.
She also quickly stuffed a comb, a towel, personal items, her glasses case, and other stuff. She threw on a plaid cardigan, and zipped it up.
She put extra pairs of shoes in backpack, and looked around.
Her instruments…
She hated to part with them, but maybe she would return to them. Biting her lip, she brought her violin, but it in its case, without looking back, left her sanctuary of a home.
“Ready?” Liz said, and Belle nodded, but then ran back to get a wallet sized picture of her family and slipped it in her own wallet, which rested in her pocket and was full of the money their parents gave them, and had her own debit card with her life’s savings in it.
“I have a bag to pack all the food from our house,” Belle said.
Liz nodded, grabbing and going downstairs, Belle behind her. They then proceeded to pack all the dry foods, the ones that would last, any vitamins, antibiotics, medical things, until the bag was almost full, but there was nothing else they could use.
Belle suddenly went back in the closet, pulling out two bottles of vodka. “They can do a miracle,” she said.
Disinfectants were what she really meant.
The two immediately ran back across the street, luckily, it was empty, but stopped when they heard mutters of appreciations from god from their neighbors windows, who were worried about the two teenagers.
Liz ran back out in the middle of the street, as Belle opened the door to put the bags in there, and ran back out with her.
“What the hell is going on?!” Belle asked.
“I don’t really know, but all the channels have been switched onto the emergency crisis broadcast…they want us to head to safe places…ranging from city halls to military bases.”
“I’d sure as hell feel better at a military base,” Liz muttered.
“Me too!” shouted another neighbor.
“I think we should all just lock our doors and barricade everything!” one of them shouted.
“But what about food? And water?!”
“What about our families?” Belle said, but only enough for Liz to hear.
Liz bit her lip, and smiled. “They called, they’re at a military base. That’s probably the best place to be right now, but I think we should head inside. It’s a bit stupid to be out in the streets to get info, we can go on the balcony,” Liz said, and Belle instantly felt better.
The two rushed back inside, and Liz locked the door, and went around the house. The garage was locked, and her back door was locked too.
“I’ll talk to the neighbors,” Liz said. “Can you put all the blinds down and go downstairs, and put your stuff there?
Belle went around the bottom floor, making sure all the window blinds were folded down, while Liz went up to her balcony to obtain information.
Afterwards, she left the duffel bag of food in the kitchen, and heading down stairs to put down her clothes, items, and violin case.
Finished with that, she turned off the DVD player seeing that they left it on, and it immediately went to the EBC, the emergency broadcast channel, and it had reports, status, and warnings.
Belle sat on the couch, and covered her face with her hands.
Jesus Christ, its not even 2012…this is happening so fast… Belle thought, stunned.
Think…think this through. If you panic, like in the scary movies, it will only get you in deep shit. Liz said our parents…families…safe…all of our friends are in the Paris trip thing…so its us we have to worry about the most… Belle told herself.
Panicking was indeed the worst thing to do at the time…but what else could she do?! She would’ve been dead…dead! If she hadn’t closed the door in time, if Liz hadn’t come for her…
Lizzie…she thought. God, she had to be strong. So she wouldn’t let Lizzie get hurt.
This felt like one of Lizzie’s games came to life, but Belle shook the thought away. The guy looked dead, but to be safe, Belle needed to make sure not to even come close to any of them.
If she died…well, she would die fighting to protect Liz she knew for sure…but…If Liz died… Belle didn’t even have a second thought about it.
Her main priority was their safety. Mostly Lizzie’s, but she knew Liz wouldn’t want her dying either.
Suddenly, Liz came running down the stairs, lay the now clean bat on the staircase, and jumped on Belle. “I’m so sorry…” Liz muttered, burying her head onto Belle’s neck.
Belle wrapped her arms around the blonde girl, smiling. “You came for me, you protected me…its okay.”
“I’d really love to stay like this forever,” Liz mumbled, causing Belle to blush, but then looked at her seriously. “But we have two days. To stay here, pack up, and bring as little stuff as we can.”
“Is that the plan you guys made?” Belle asked, obviously referring to their neighbors. Liz nodded, and Belle smiled. “This is weird, you’re so irresponsible…”
“I don’t want you to get hurt…” Liz mumbled, lying her cheek on Belle’s shoulder.
“Mmm…” Belle said, running her hand through Liz’s hair. I love and hate how this whole world disappears when I’m with Liz… Belle thought. Their bare feet tangled together, and not a word was said as the two mentally prepared, and dealt with this crisis.
Whatever happens, happens…as long as she’s safe... they both thought.
“We should go on the mattress…its more comfortable…” Liz said after almost an hour of their silence.
Belle nodded, and the two got up, taking off their jackets, and dimmed the lights really low before tumbling onto Lizzie’s soft mattress on the floor.
-
Liz’s eyes instantly opened, and smiled at Belle in her arms.
This was really weird…everything didn’t feel real. But it was real…that meant…
People…are… dying… Liz sadly thought. She desperately wanted to ignore that fact…but she just couldn’t. It hurt her, and scared her. What if Belle dies? She thought, and sighed.
She tightened her grasp around Belle who unconsciously smiled on Liz’s shoulder.
Maybe we could stay here…But our parents…they’ll worry. Crap. Well, I can’t be a pussy now, people die everyday back then…when this zombie shit wasn’t happening…so…
Liz smiled. She would have to brave to protect Belle.
A/N: Sorry for not being here…I had relationship problems that took up my time. Bleh, oh well. Yes, relationship problems. Which is my excuse XD, but that’s okay, cos I’d gladly waste my time for heeerrr. And Breathing for Too Long, I didn't get stuck, i just don't like how i'm writing it, its weird. I think i might rewrite it, or something, but I am spending time on it.
