The jewel-bright berry-red duffle coat
Flitters briefly in the weary winter breeze.
A symbol of the vibrant girl she was –
Now hidden under dizzying confusion,
behind the hangman's noose.
And they say it's justice.
Her jewel-bright rosy-red duffle coat
Holds safe; secure,
A million blushes that kissed
Those once-smiling cheeks.
His skin is pale now,
Iridescent with memories;
Stories untold, some glowing, some –
A life was taken.
This was Wrong,
So they took another.
A life for a life.
No-one thought about his little girl
In her blood-red duffle coat.
Is that justice?
