You said “I love you”

But how can you “love” me

You don’t even know what love is

You waste yourself on people

Who could care less about you

And you could care less about them

I don’t know anything about your past

About how you came to be

And I would rather not know

What I want to know is the truth

If you truly do “love” me

You would let me in

You would tear down

All one hundred of those walls between us

You would let me see the vulnerability that you hide

I want to love you

The way nobody has

The way that you’ve never felt

I want to show you that fear is ok

That love is something that should be enjoyed

I can’t love you

Because it’s just a waste of my time

You won’t be yourself

At least not around me

You show off trying to be macho

But for me it doesn’t work

You “love” me

but you won’t.
