I l--

I l--

I learned today that my life doesn't start and end with a sigh,
In that way that I thought that it must when I couldn't see anything,
Just the dust at the end of the day, and my footprints, all dead.

I said that I l--

I like feeling tall, and I like feeling like I can win,
And I like that I'm all in control of my future, with you,
Like the Earth and the Moon, each one making it so that the other can't fall,

And I l--

I live when I thought I would die, and I cry 'cause I hope,
Where yesterday my laughter was brittle and cold.
And you give me the crazy idea that this world is so great,
And that if I just wait, I'll have everything--
Or you, which really is the same thing.
In just two years, we could be kissing.

I l--

I never believed I could love, but I do,
'Cause I love you.
