Break of Day

by, Cassandra

A scream, a thought, a helpless sound,
lost in air and falling down, down,
down, until it hits the ground.

But a planted seed will never grow
without love and light and
nurture’s tender glow.

Hate sinks its roots deeper
into dirt, hoping to taint
love’s fragile growth.

A drop of hope and life falls
from listless eyes, as a ray of
light streaks the morning sky.

{things look better
once you open
up your eyes.
}

a/n: Emo? Not really. I felt like writing something light, without it being... mushy, I guess. It's not a "love poem". It's a life poem. A little "light at the end of the tunnel". I'm tired of fighting through this dark.
