Take a look at me
What do you see?
Do you see me
laughing and smiling
as I stand before you?
Or do you see beyond
my skin--
Scarred
by something
much more hurtful
than swords?
Scarred
by something
that does not kill
the flesh,
but the soul,
instead.
And though that which hurts me
has the power
to heal,
my scars
are still there.
