Let me step out of this cracking shell.
Hear as I hatch into my true self.
The person you thought you were so in love with had never existed at all.
The lighthearted laughter you used to treasure was a desperate cry as I fall.
The me you have loved all these years was your own creation,
A twisted byproduct of your sick imagination.
I am the darkness you fear so dear.
I am the lies being constantly whispered in your ears.
You loved the light I used to shine.
You loved the truths that were used to cover the lies.
Just pass your lips is a tongue as sharp as mine.
The only difference is that yours is in a bind.
And your wings are painted white to hide your corruption from others' sight.
In your prayers you take flight, but with broken wings you cannot fly....
You only saw through my disguise because you and I, love...
Are so much alike.
