I keep waiting for the phone to ring
To hear your voice on the other end
Saying that you’re sorry
And you love me.

My heart races when I see you in the halls
But I can’t bear to meet your eyes
Because my heart hurts
And I don’t want you to see.

This feeling is unbearable
Like I’m missing something crucial
Knowing you’re out there with your friends
Instead of me.

I forget you for moments at a time
Blissful numbness when I’m with my friends
But at night the darkness closes in
And you’re all I can think of.

I miss your voice, your touch, your kiss
The way you used to look at me
But I lost you to the daylight
And I will dream of you tonight.
