The world demands

That we live for ourselves

In this "living" I'm dying

While the world just watches me fall

I don't need any help

I've been taught to bear it all

But there's an issue:

With all this weight it's hard to breathe

I can't live without a breath

I've been breathless for so long

I'm so ashamed to ask for air

Even from my God that cares

I sang surrender long ago

But I've held on to a few

Problems that I don't want God to know

Now I'm broken, I can't take it

I can't stand this life, I hate it

I can't live for myself anymore

The world will fall but still you stand

You're holding me in your hands

Where I am, the world would cast me down

but where I am is where your Spirit abounds

Surrender

My life belongs to you, not me

Bought with a price, the son of a king

I surrender

I surrender
