There is absolutely no excuse for why this chapter took so long in coming out. I am horribly sorry, and I wouldn't blame anyone if no one read anymore. Also, and ideas for the plot you have would be great, considering I based the entire story on the line "were you staring at my ass?" and now I have no idea what will happen to them.

“¿Anna? ¿Sylvia? ¡Vengen abajo! Nececitamos ayudar a su mama a preparar porque no hisiste nada para ayudar a ella antes.” Anna? Sylvia? Come down! We need to help your mom to get ready ‘cause you didn’t help before. Eric yelled up the stairs.

“¡Ya vamos!” We’re coming! Anna yelled back. She turned to me. “You are going to go downstairs.” I nodded. “And Eric and I will distract your mom for five minutes.” I nodded. “And you will go outside before Frankie comes in and you will kiss him.”

“Isn’t he already inside?” I asked, trying to evade her sharp glares. “Yes, Mistress. I will get him alone and kiss him.” Anna smiled.

“Que tan rapido aprendes.” How quickly you learn. I smiled sarcastically at her and we bounded down the stairs. As soon as we were down Anna grabbed Eric and whispered to him, presumably telling him to distract my mom or something to that extent. He nodded.

“You owe me, though.” Anna smiled seductively and kissed his cheek.

“Ya se, cariño.” I know, love.

“Mrs. Michleston, what can we do to help you in the kitchen?” Eric asked loudly, heading for the kitchen.

“Oh, hello Eric,” my mom said happily. “Of course, there’s always something you can do to help! You can start by not eating all those cookies.” Anna nudged me and nodded purposefully at Frankie who was standing behind Eric waiting for my mom to tell him what to do. I nodded.

“Frankie, ayudame decorar con los globos,” I ordered. Frankie, help me decorate with the balloons. He smiled and walked over to me. Oh God. I had to kiss him. Not yet, though. I could wait a few minutes. Yes! That’s it! We could decorate a bit and then I’d kiss him. I turned and tossed him a bag of balloons. “Start blowing.” He grinned.

“No piensas que yo debo decirte eso?” Don’t you think I should be saying that to you? I sneered.

“Tan chistoso.” So funny. He laughed.

“Yeah, I know. I’m just funny like that.” I didn’t respond, I just started blowing up balloons. Frankie grinned and sat next to me on the couch.

“You look so sexy like that,” he whispered.

“And you’re gonna look sexy with a giant bruise on your face if you don’t start helping.” Frankie “eeep!”ed and started helping. One pack of balloons later (about five minutes) I saw Anna stick her head out the kitchen door. I frowned at her and shook my head barely. She threw her hands up in the air and flicked me off. I sighed and rested my head on Frankie’s shoulder. He turned suddenly, almost jerking me off.

“Well, if you don’t want me touching you all you had to do was ask!” I joked. He smiled.

“Nah, I just didn’t expect it.” I smiled and leaned my head on his shoulder again. “So are you not blowing anymore balloons?” Frankie asked, smirking.

“Shut up.” He laughed and wrapped an arm around my shoulders. I inhaled in surprise and immediately afterwards hoped he didn’t hear. He didn’t seem to and seemed content to just rest his head on top of mine with his arm around my shoulders. I felt the same as earlier, when Frankie had been talking about me and what he wanted to do to me. I felt empty, like he had the power to make everything disappear and only he mattered in the world, he was the only thing on my mind. I closed my eyes and surrender myself to the feelings, smelling him, the pot and the sweat and shampoo.

“Sylvia? Are you guys done?” my mom called. We jumped apart and I called back to her.

“We’re finished blowing up balloons. Now we’re gonna hang them.” We stood and started hanging balloons with crepe paper when Anna came in and touched my back. I turned and walked a bit away to talk to her.

“So?” she asked, grinning. I glanced back at Frankie who was standing on a step stool to hang balloons. He didn’t look back so I turned back to look at Anna. I shook my head. “¡SYL! Apurate! No vas a tener otro oportunidad!” she yelled. SYL! Soon! You won’t have another chance! I shushed her, glancing back at a still unconcerned Frankie.

“Si, pronto. ¡Pero no ahora, por favor! Te prometo que voy a hacerlo! Nadamas nececito un poquito mas tiempo,” I begged. Yes, soon. But not now, please! I promise you I’ll do it! I just need a little more time. Anna nodded.

“Don’t let me down.” I nodded.

“¿Qué paso? ¿Qué fue eso?” Frankie asked as soon as I returned. What happend? What was that? I shook my head.

“Nada. Anna es estupida.” Nothing. Anna is stupid. He frowned.

“That wasn’t nothing. What happened?” he pressed. I shook my head.

“Drop it,” I warned with a bit too much hostility in my voice.

“Can I ask you about it later?” he asked.

“You can ask. Who knows if I’ll answer.” He nodded and returned to work. I grabbed a balloon and handed it up to him. He took it silently and hung it. We worked in uncomfortable silence until we were finished. My mom came out of the kitchen just as we were finishing. She clapped her hands happily.

“¡Ay niños! ¡Ve tan bonito!” Oh, guys! It looks so pretty! I smiled and hugged her.

“How much longer ‘till people start showing up?” I asked. She glanced at her watch.

“They should show up any mintue now.” As if on cue, the doorbell rang and she rushed to see who it was. She opened the door with a cheery “Hello!” to whoever was at the door.

“Hey Mom?”

“Yes?”

“You remembered to call Rob and make Danny shower at school, right?” She grabbed her hair in panic.

“I totally forgot! They’re probably already on their way home!”

“I’ll call him and figure it out.” She nodded at me gratefully. I walked over to the couch Frankie and I had been sitting on earlier and pulled out my phone as I flopped down. Frankie sat next to me, looking curiously at me.

“¿Quién es Rob?” Who is Rob?

“Es el amigo mejor de mi hermano, Danny.” He’s the best friend of my brother, Danny.

“¿Y Danny es la persona quien la fiesta es para?”

“Si. El cumple 19 mañana.” Yeah. He turns 19 tomorrow. I scrolled through contacts on my phone until I found Rob’s number.

“¿Por qué tienes su numero?” Why do you have his number?

“El es el mejor amigo de mi hermano. Todos tenemos el numero del mejor amigo de todos en nuestro familia. Danny tiene el numero de Anna.” He’s my brother’s best friend. We all have the number of the best friend in my family. Danny has Anna’s number. Frankie nodded in understanding and stopped talking so I could hear Rob.

“Hey, Rob! I was afraid I wouldn’t catch you. Is Danny standing next to you listening?” Rob laughed.

“No, he is still changing. Coach made us run extra today but everything’s good. No one’s super mad ‘cause we all had fun goofing off.”

“You guys are so immature. Anyway, make sure you get Danny to take a shower over there before y’all come home.”

“Oh, shit! I forgot about that thing! Yeah, I’ll get him to. Bye, Syl.”

“Bye, Rob.”

“So what was that thing Anna pulled you over for earlier?” Frankie asked as soon as I hung up. I shook my head, smiling sadly.

“Please don’t, Frankie. Please,” I pleaded, looking sadly at him. He wrapped his arms around my shoulders again.

“You can tell me. I won’t judge you or anything: Are you sick? Are you secretly involved in the mafia? Are you going to kill me? I might judge you for that.” I shook my head and pulled out of his embrace and stood a few feet away from the couch. “Seriously, Syl. What’s wrong?” I grinned at his quick pick up of the nickname everyone had given me. I shook my head stubbornly. He stood too and put his hands on my shoulders. “Are you pregnant with my child?” I looked up, shocked.

“Uh, we never...unless you raped me in my sleep.” He thought a bit.

“No, I don’t think I raped you.”

“That’s good.”

“So what’s wrong?” I glanced behind him and saw Anna giving me a thumbs up. I saw my the reflection of my mom in the kitchen window and saw that she busy.

“You wanna know what’s wrong?” I asked slightly viciously.

“Yes,” he nodded. I grabbed the sides of his head with my hands and pulled it down until our lips met abruptly. He kissed me back softly, wrapping his arms around my waist. The feeling of emptiness in my stomach returned, but this time there were tingles all over my body too. The only way I could describe it was like in the Disney version of Peter Pan, Tinkerbell has magic sparkles when she makes people fly, and it felt like I could take off flying. I slid my hands off his head and tangled my fingers in his straightened hair. He flicked my lips open with a skilled tongue and my hands slipped from his hair to his shoulders. His tongue touched mine tentatively, dancing around it slowly. I pulled back, out of needing to breath and being scared.

“Syl?” he asked softly. I smiled up at him.

“Yeah?”

“¿Hice algo mal?” Did I do something wrong? I shook my head.

“No, es que, nunca he besado nadie,” I confessed softly. No, it’s just that, I’ve never kissed anyone. He leaned down and pressed a gentile kiss to my parted lips.

“Si no me hubieras dicho, no lo hubiera sabido." If you hadn’t told me, I wouldn’t have known.

“No mientas a mi. Se que no puedo hacerlo bien.” Don’t lie to me. I know I can’t do it well.

“Nada mas nececitas practica. Puedes practicar con mi,” he offered. You just need practice. You can practice with me. I smiled at him.

“Suena bien.” I kissed him again, softly. “We gotta help with the party, though. Let’s get working.” I pulled him by his wrist towards the kitchen. He slipped his hand into mine as we walked. “Mom? Do you need help with anything else?” She turned and saw Frankie and me standing in the doorway. She smiled and brushed hair out of her face. Anna glanced over too and I saw her eyes bug when she saw Frankie and me holding hands. She jumped up and down, screaming and clapping her hands silently.

“Could you just take these plates out to the table?” my mom asked, oblivious to the spazzing Anna. I nodded and grabbed a platter of cookies. Frankie followed suit with a decorated cake.

“Vamanos, Frankie. Vamos a cortar flores para la mesa.” Come on, Frankie. Let’s go cut flowers for the table. He nodded and followed me out the door. I grabbed a pair of scissors on the way out the door and walked straight over to the garden my mom tended with intense devotion.

“¿Son tuyos?” Frankie asked, gesturing to the flowers. Are they yours? I shook my head.

“No, mi mama gusta trabajar en el jardin.” No, my mom likes to garden. I grabbed the stem of a nice full yellow hibiscus blossom and clipped it off with enough of a stem to put in a vase. I handed the flower to Frankie and headed over to that leafy green plant with the tiny red blooms that don’t even look like flowers, it just looks like leaves were dipped in red paint. I clipped some of that and then a few blue flowers I didn’t know the name of. I glanced back at the handful of color in Frankie’s hands. “That’s good enough.”

“No, there is one more thing,” Frankie said, taking the scissors from my hands. He reached over and clipped off another hibiscus blossom, this one red and slid it behind my ear. I smiled and kissed him softly.

“Gracias.” Thanks.

“De nada.” You’re welcome.
