your sparkling eyes directed downward

hiding behind prescription glass

and thick black frames

lips smiling

voice laughing

legs crossed and tucked in

hands tucking hair

holding half-empty cans

tongue rolling over sentence after sentence

voice rising and falling to meet the mood of the current conversation

and when you grin, the room grows brighter

your laugh echoes in my memory

as we toss our heads back and bellow in ecstasy

and tremble until we can’t breathe

my heart swells

as tears come to our eyes

and we don't even bother to wipe them away

A/N: This is actually a really old poem that I revised and reposted. Nothing new.
