I lay there,
sacrificing myself for your sake.
Your eyes open,
I'm not there,
because you are awake.
Dark tunes of soothing lullabies.
Forgive me for the lies.

I sacrificed myself for your sake.

No regret;
not a thank you.
Because we never met.
