Camp Summer Love

Summer camp. Something every kid love’s, except me. I hate it and it is something that I do not need. I have never been and really, I never wanted to go but guess what? My mother decided to send me there because she cannot trust me to stay on my own for 10 weeks straight so she is sending me away. I could not believe it. I was 18 and going to summer camp. Who does that? Only little kids go there.

I glanced over at my mother as she smiled happily to herself. I wanted to scream. How could she be so cheery? Really, the only thing I would be doing this summer was sitting in the living room and reading a book or taking a small walk and reading a book or sitting in my room reading a book...yeah. Therefore, you get the point. I do not need to go to any summer camp but as the sign started appearing over the edge of the road I knew I would not get out of it.

‘Camp Summer Love. Where happiness doesn't stop until the day you leave.' If I did not know better, my mouth was hanging open. Whoever decided to create this place must be full of themselves because this was stupid. Happiness is made by yourself not others who think being in the middle of some random woods, in the middle of the country, is fun. I looked at my mum again.

“You have to be kidding me?” I asked her. She glanced at me and then back at the road.

“Of course not dear. I love this place. I met your father here.” I snorted.

“Yeah look how he turned up. 6 foot under half rotten with broken limbs and a cracked skull,” I muttered to myself. I lost my dad when I was 10. He was the adventurous type and every year he went away. That year he went mountain climbing. He slipped and fell down a sheer face of a mountain.

“Sonea! Do not speak of your father that way. He was a good man and respectable. He had ambitions which are more then I can say for you.” I felt like retaliating but I thought better of it. When fighting with my mother I normally lost. I slumped in my chair and looked out the window. As the trees thickened, I sighed and took more notice of what was around me. Maybe this would be all right. I know that I do not have to do the activities and I would not be the only one of my age here. As we came closer to the buildings, I sat up straight. I looked around but no one was around. I sighed. Stupid camp rules I thought. I knew that for the first day you had to stay in your cabin. My mum stopped the car and looked at me. She smiled and stepped out. I followed and we walked into the main building.

Over at the reception desk I stood looking rather bored. No one was there and I nearly cracked up laughing. My mum rang the bell and soon someone appeared. He was not your normal receptionist I knew that much.

“Good day ma'am. May I help you?” my mother smiled.

“Yes. Well actually it is my daughter.” the man’s eyes flicked up to look at me. His face was a little stunned but he soon recovered. He gulped back and looked at my mother.

“What can I do for her?” he asked.

“She has reservation for the summer.” he nodded and turned to the computer.

“Name?”

“Sonea Adams” my mother told him. He nodded and tapped on a few keys. He nodded once he found my name and he smiled at my mum. I knew from then on that he was avoiding my gaze. What was it? Did I have a spot? Was I ugly? I growled inside my head and concentrated on what the man was saying.

“Sonea. Your cabin room number is 56. Here is your key and here is the time table.” I looked at the items he had just given me. He was not finished yet. “If I may I will be having your mobile phone and any other mean of communication.” my mouth fell open. He could not be serious.

“You want me to give up my phone to you?” he nodded.

“Camp rules sorry” I glared at him.

“Screw you” I took my phone out and handed it to my mother. “Don't you dare fuck my phone up! Do not lose it and certainly do not look through it. When I get home I will expect to see it on my bed side cabinet” my mother smiled and nodded.

“Sure thing sweetie” I turned to look at the reception man and I glared. Yes, I loved my phone. I never let it out of my sight but I never really called or communicated with any one on it. It was an mp3 player as well and it had a lot of memory on it. I had an mp4 player yes but I loved my phone. He smiled and said.

“I'll help you with your bags and show you the way around. We wouldn't want to get your pretty little face all tearful because you were lost.” my eyes became slits.

“Thanks but no thanks. I am not some prim proper skittish girl who thinks picking up a book is too hard to cope with. I can handle my own bags thank you and if I get lost its better then caught up in this shit hole” I turned on my heal after picking my things up. I walked out the car and picked my two suitcases up. Yes, I had many clothes but really, they were mostly shorts and tank top with a few corsets in there. That is all I promise. I walked towards a map and looked for my cabin. I sighed, as it was right on the border of the borderline of the girl section of cabins and males section of cabins. I cursed. I knew exactly what was going to happen over the next few weeks and it would contain a lot of screaming and shouting from my end and lots of peeping from their end.

I sighed and started walking the direction I was supposed to go. It did not take too long for me to get there. I was surprised at what I saw. My cabin was not really a cabin. It was more of a little hut that was really the size of a small house. It looked posh and yet it seemed rather woodland like. I walked up to the door and turned the handle. It opened easily and I pushed the door open.

Four sets of eyes fell on me and I gave a small smile. Before I knew it, screams were entering my ears and two of the girls raced over and took my bags. They were dumped on the empty bed and I was pulled in side by the other two. All four girls stood in front of me and I did not want to believe what I was seeing. The girls in front of me looked the same as one another.

“Hi I'm Kenya” this came from the girl on the very left. Her hair was long. It looked like it came to her bum. Her teeth were white and she had the bluest eyes I had ever seen.

“I'm Katrina,” the one next to her said. Her hair was shorter then Kenya's but the rest was the same.

“I'm Kassy. It’s with a 'k' not a 'c'” I nodded. Kassy's hair was just below shoulder length and it suited her very well. The last looked like the oldest out of the four. Her eyes were a little less blue but she still had the pearly white of the rest of the four.

“Hi, I'm Kendra” I nodded. Kendra's hair was certainly shorter than the rest. Hers was cut to boy short and it suited her even more then if it was longer

“Uh...I'm not sure what to say. Wow you’re really pretty by the way...um...” I did not know what to say. Then I slapped myself. “Oh I'm sorry. I am Sonea Adams. I guess I'm your last cabin member.” their smiled could not get any wider I thought.

“Cool. My sisters and I adore you already. Trent sent us a picture of you. He thought that we ought to know what we were dealing with. Normally we don't have any one joining us but the owner Alex said that he knows your mother and this is the best place around trust me.” I nodded.

Kenya giggled and she raced over to me and she took my hand and pulled me over to my bed. We sat and talked. So I did not do any talking she did all the talking but I was not bothered. I gathered that Kenya was the youngest and Kendra was the oldest. Trent was hot apparently and he did anything for them. I also found out that these girls had their phones. I nearly went crazy when Kassy pulled hers out. I could not believe it.

I also could not believe that I was looking forward to this summer. The sisters were fun and were great friends all ready. They all loved my clothes and they all wanted to dress like me but I told them that they were designer items and I would lend them my mess around sets. They were not upset by this though they seemed more excited by it. Soon it came to dinnertime. I did not really know this until I heard a knock at our door.

“Girls are you decent?” I heard a male voice ask. I sighed and walked to the door.

“Well we aren't in towels now are-” I stopped “You bastard.” I stated. “I hate you. You tricked me. I could have kept my phone and yet you made me so pissed that I gave it to my mum” he nodded. One of the sisters giggled and stood next to me.

“Hi Trent.” I almost gagged. This could not be Trent. For one he was not hot and if he were, I would not be the one to say. Two his lip ring made him look like a skater boy instead of a camper. Three he was not wearing his top. It was tucked in through one of his trousers belt holes. This was not happening. I had to take control. I pointed at Trent.

“You put your shirt on before these four die from whatever they see in you” I pointed at Kassy who was ogling Trent “stop ogling that abominable beast and put your shoes on” Kassy looked at me but nodded a little sad. I turned to look at Trent. I raised an eyebrow. He was smirking with his top still not over his body.

“You know red doesn't suit your cheeks a light brown blush would do you some good” my mouth dropped. He was implying that I was blushing at the sight of his very brown very good-looking- I glared at him. I was not going to think any of that while I was here. I was going to survive here doing what I wanted in my own time without having people tell me what I can do.

“Yes well being fat doesn't suit you either so maybe you need to work out some more” I stalked past him not really knowing where I was meant to be going. I could see the girl’s faces in my mind’s eye. Each one of them looking at me shocked. He was not fat. In fact, he was very well toned with muscles that were very distinguishable.

Maybe this summer was going to be more interesting than I thought.
