Guilt
What is it about us that make us so vain?
Vain enough to lie and cheat
The force driven into you, guiding you
And I never really knew what I said
It all came out, quick and decisively cruel
Like my mind had a mouth of its own.
-
It truly is odd how much anger we hold
And how we choose to present it, if we dare
But locked inside, it gathers and twists
Sending pain and memory through the veins
And it gets so bad that you fight against yourself
Between what is right and what we must do.
-
So is it really that terrible?
We all lie and cheat sometime
So much that it all becomes clear:
Why? Why must we be deceitful?
The world is only deceitful, nothing more
Truth is blanketed by a misty fog
That everything that is spoken or shown becomes real
And it all started because we lie and cheat
And feel no pain.
