The Woman of My Heart
by Reggie
3/5/2009
Who are you?
What is your name?
Where are you?
How long must you hide?
Everyday I long for you, search for you
I want to see your face, so sweet and pretty
I want to smell your scent, clovers of honey and roses
I want to touch your hair, blonde or dark
I want to touch your arms, graceful and strong
I want to feel your skin, ivory and smooth
I want to look into your eyes, blue or rainbow
I want to hear your voice, calm and soothing
You have no perfect image, no set look
Many, in the years long past, faces were you
They had your spirit, your passion, your purpose
Some even mocked your voice, I'd say it was you!
Some comforted me, some tainted me, all have gone from me
And yet all adored me, they saw my heart
But you...you my sweet angel
You heavenly dove, beautiful and radiant as the sun
You are still hidden!
The Lord above keeps us from ever being
Our time, our memories, our story is not yet on display
I long so much, so more
like pain filling the joints
like cavities capturing the teeth
is my longing for you to taste you, my honeydew
to feel you, my feathered dove
to smell you, my gentle flower
to hear you, my soothing whistle
to see you, my wonderful portrait
How long, I cry...How long!
How long, oh Lord, must you keep her from me,
isn't she mine?
How dare I pout,
how dare I snare at the Lord who created love!
Surely in Your time we shall meet
No matter how many come my way
I am searching for you!
I am searching for you, my long lost love!
Please, come to me, hear my voice
I am waiting to love you, for I've already fallen
for you, I say, are mine
You are the woman of my heart
