your disposition
darkens me,
your smiles fill in the stars
and shine on a mirror
of golden discussions,
and unsaid things.

it’s sunshine reality now,
and you’re in a war, my sweet,
bullets slipping through skin,
mere inches ‘tween the bodies
on the ground.

your sparks are an ignition, hurrying
to spit out explosions
and heighten the paranoia.

permanent November swells
beneath my blistered feet,
and seeks respite in
my raining agony,
my stars and stripes
of bloodied grime.

your world is all for naught,
my love,
your military presence
a constant dictionary definition
that falls through my walls
and kicks my reflexes
into super-speed.

nothing fell from your
clouded eyerises,
and noone can see my darkness
in your love.
