A/N: Okay guys. To all those who were with me in MBS last time, what did you think of the Chris & Vivian moment, eh? Hahaha! Okay, here’s Chapter 6 for y’all.
Chapter 6: Streaks
Nanotechnology. Besides the revolutionary DNG, the existence of nanotechnology has been the pinnacle of the 21st century.
Complex machinery capabilities embedded into molecules. The ability for matter to heal and reconstruct itself. Invisible force-fields that shield a vehicle from attacks like the ones from Star Wars do.
With the promise of optical camouflage being a reality with the help of nanotechnology, one can only wonder. Will we ever be stoppable now?
-Revised summary of a report by General Fleming of the US Army’s Experimental Weapons Program.-

“Onii-chan!”
“What is it now, Koharu?”
“Onii-chan, where’s my clothes? I left them on my bed but I can’t find them!”
Sighing loudly, Leon then paused his PS3 and walked up the stairs.
“What d’you mean you can’t find ‘em? It’s either on your bed or it isn’t,” Leon simply replied, still moving up to the 3rd floor of his house.
“Well it isn’t! Someone took them!” Koharu whined. Slapping his forehead, Leon walked over to her room.
“We’re the only 2 people in this house, Koharu,” Leon said, leaning by her doorway.
“Well then I don’t think we’re alone!” Koharu said, storming up front to face her ‘brother’.
When Leon turned his head around to tell her off, what greeted him made him flinch backwards in sheer panic.
“K-Koharu!” Leon yelled, covering his eyes. Even if it was only for a fraction of a second, Leon saw that Koharu was only holding up a towel to cover her otherwise naked front. It wasn’t even wrapped around her body.
“What?” she asked, looking at herself, seeing nothing wrong. Apparently modestly was something foreign to her, then.
“P-Put something on!” Leon yelled, using his other free hand to sweep the air away, a gesture for her to go away.
“Well I am! What do you think this towel’s for?” Koharu said, evidently curious as to why Leon was acting so strangely.
“I meant for you to put some clothes on!” he said, getting up to turn around. He was extremely thankful that they were the only 2 people here. He would have died from sheer embarrassment otherwise.
Raising her eyebrows, it took Koharu a second to comprehend what Leon meant before she burst out laughing.
“Hahaha! I’m sorry, Onii-chan! I didn’t know you’re that virtuous!” Koharu said merrily before going back into her room. Only when he heard the door close shut and the muffled sounds of Koharu still laughing did he storm back down the stairs.
“We’re leaving in 10 minutes! Get ready by then!” Leon roared as he made his way down, the remaining laughter dying out almost instantaneously.
He didn’t mean to sound so angry, but the truth was that Leon was infamously known to lose his temper rather quickly. Any of his friends were living testimonies to this.
After cleaning himself up and turning off his PS3, starting up the car and tossing his bag in, Leon just sat in his driver’s seat and waited. He wanted to apologize to Koharu, at least. She was actually the first girl he yelled at in a long time.
Noticing her locking up the house and walking into the car with a frown, Leon held his breath. Was she going to just sulk all day about this?
When she got in and closed the door softly, Leon decided to make his move.
“Look, Koharu. I’m sorry I yelled at you. It was uncalled for,” Leon said, looking at her. He hardly apologized for his actions, but now was a good time, if any.
She turned to look at him hollowly, her silver-blue eyes locking with his brown ones. “It’s my fault. I shouldn’t have come out in just a towel,” she said with a slight tinkle in her voice. Apparently she still found it funny.
Leon himself chuckled at that comment. At least the tension between them was over.
He then ruffled her hair, something she wasn’t expecting. Koharu almost flinched at the action, initially thinking Leon was going to bop her on the head or something.
“Just be more modest next time, okay? Mum and Dad wouldn’t appreciate something like this, you know,” Leon said as he backed up the car.
“You’re really taking me as your sister, then?” Koharu asked as she hiked her eyebrows.
“Well…” Leon began as he drove out. “It’s kinda something I got used to. Would you rather I consider you as my genie, then?”
Clicking her teeth in annoyance, the fox-girl then looked away as her ears twitched. Leon chuckled internally. This was the closest he could get to having a real sister, so what the heck?
*
“No, I don’t wanna do it.”
“Aw, c’mon already. You like her, and she may like you, so what’s the big problem here?”
“The problem is, I don’t want to look like a bloody stupid goof!”
Jason then looked at Chris disbelievingly.
“Hey, you were the Man of The Match for that game a few days back, weren’t you? She even came all the way down to congratulate you, didn’t she?” Jason asked, pushing Chris on the back softly.
Chris couldn’t argue with that one. Vivian did come all the way down from the spectators’ benches to congratulate Chris. There was no sudden emotional hug like the ones in those overrated romance comedies, but being able to see her smile was a close 2nd.
“Hey, Earth to Chris?” Jason said, waving a hand in front of Chris, derailing his current train of thoughts.
“Yeah?” Chris asked as he looked at Jason.
“Ah~ You were thinking about her again, weren’t you?” Jason said as the realization dawned upon him.
Turning a faint hint of pink, Chris then looked away. “Y-Yeah, so?” he defended.
Jason chuckled faintly as he said “Nothing,” and turned away.
Homeroom would start in about 15 minutes, and they were one of the few ones who were actually there on time. Was it because homeroom itself wasn’t so crucial?
Chris couldn’t really think of anything else to do but lay his head on the desk and just doze off. 15 minute’s worth of sleep was better than nothing.
Unfortunately, Ken, who was sitting next to him, kept nudging him on the head.
“What?” Chris asked in utter annoyance.
“Told you not to stay up all night and play Dead Space 3, didn’t I? Ended up I was the one driving us to college when it’s supposed to be your turn,” Ken said, just as annoyed, if not more.
“Sorry, then. I couldn’t put the controller down,” Chris said as he leaned his head on his arms.
“Hmmph. Serves you right, then,” Ken said as he took out his laptop.
Then a certain someone entered the room, catching their attention all at once.
“Isn’t that the new guy?” Jason asked.
Jason was asking about the new student who just came into the hall. He was a blonde Chinese (surprising?) who had the typical air around him that painfully indicated he was rich.
He was rather good looking for one thing, making most of the girls in the class giggle and fawn over him. The boys in the class all had one distinct expression. They were all glaring daggers at him.
“Yeah,” Peter said, not looking up from his Biology text book. “That’s Adam Lee. His entire family lived in England until recently. He’s one of the richest people around here, as far as I know. He drives a Lambo to college.”
Everyone within earshot had their eyes fully-opened as they exchanged glances between Peter and Adam.
“Hey, does he speak in a British accent?” a girl asked Peter, who nodded. She then giggled with her bunch of friends, earning a rather loud groan from Eric.
It didn’t go unheard, as the girls then glared at him. “What’s wrong with that, eh?” one of them asked, pouting at Eric.
“Nothing much,” Eric simply replied, looking away. “It’s just that you girls are so ticklish over the fact that he’s British,” he finished with a mocking tone at the end.
“Hey, you guys aren’t so perfect, either. Don’t you all always gawk over the first girl who comes in with a tank top?” she asked with leer. Some of the other girls giggled to that comment, Eric rolling his eyes.
“We’re not like the rest of them,” Jason said casually, earning a raised eyebrow or 2 from the girls. “Oh really? So it wasn’t you that was practically drooling over Sally Cho when she came in with a tank top the other day?” one of the other girls asked, the rest all laughing.
“Hey, that amount of cleavage should be made illegal, alright? That was no tank top,” Jason commented in his own defense, this time both the boys and girls laughing at that.
Then the lecture hall door slammed open in a loud bang, startling almost everyone within the hall. An enraged Leon then made his way to his seat, almost slamming his bag down, if not for the fact that it contained his laptop.
“Whoah, dude, what’s up with you?” Jason asked as Leon started muttering extreme profanities in English and Chinese under his breath.
“Ask that prissy bastard over there,” Leon said quite loudly, making several heads turn. The group of girls looked reproachfully at Leon as they knew who he meant. Adam.
“What happened? He went after Rose or something?” Ken asked, Leon only raising an eyebrow at him.
“No, he wrecked Leon’s car,” a rather ticked-off voice came from behind the group. They all turned around to see Koharu with her arms crossed, glaring dangerously at Adam.
“He did what?” Peter asked as several people leaned forward to listen in.
“I was gonna park at my usual spot when that asshole swerved right in with his Murcielargo. He came out of nowhere while I was slowly moving in!” Leon said with such a scandalized tone.
“Then? How could that wreck your car?” Chris asked.
“He practically drifted into the parking lot. Of course, I had to swerve away or I’d hit his car. Because of that I hit the nearby tree,” Leon seethed.
Some of the people stifled their laughs as others cringed. “Why’s that?” Chris asked.
“It was either crashing into the tree, or head-on with that guy’s Lambo. D’you think I could afford to pay that bastard back?” Leon asked, quite ticked-off, but not at the boys, nor the girls.
“So how’s your car?” Eric asked, the rest anticipating for Leon’s answer.
“Front part’s almost totally gone. It had to be towed away,” Leon growled, taking his seat.
“So is he paying for it?” one of the girls asked.
Leon only scoffed loudly, not a good sign. “Pay for it? The only thing he did was laugh at me!” he said, almost at the verge of roaring.
More people were beginning to stare at Leon, including Adam who only chuckled for a second before turning back to talk to someone.
“Weren’t there any witnesses? Koharu?” Chris asked, looking at the fox-girl, who shook her head. “Leon dropped me off at the front entrance before parking the car. He only showed me the damage after giving me a call,” Koharu shrugged.
“And no one else was there except me and Adam. It’s his word against mine,” Leon growled.
He was in the most foul mood anyone has ever seen, and that was saying something. Peter had never seen so much hate –or killing intent- as the ones mirrored in Leon’s eyes.
“And we can’t fake ourselves being there as witnesses, right?” Terry asked. Leon and several others only shook their heads.
“So do you need a ride home?” Peter offered. Leon shook his head and smiled for the first time. “No thanks, Peter. I wouldn’t want to trouble you,” he said, patting his shoulder.
“Hey, I can give you a lift, Leon,” Terry said. They lived around the same area, so it wasn’t much of a difference in terms of direction.
“Yeah, maybe I’ll take you up on that offer,” Leon said, breathing out sharply.
He was still glaring at Adam, who was still busy talking to some girls. Bloody womanizer…
He then opened his bag and a particular magazine stuck out from it.
“Koharu, why’s my car magazine here?” Leon asked as the fox-girl sat next to him, peering into his bag.
“Oh? Sorry, must’ve stuffed it in by mistake,” she said with a warm smile. Leon’s lips curled into a smirk as he ruffled her hair. “Silly girl…”
Opening the magazine to a random page, Leon casually read the article about concept cars. One in particular caught his eyes for a moment.
“Hey Terry,” Leon said, nudging the boy on the shoulder. “Ever heard of this car?”
Terry browsed through the book and whistled. “Wow. That’s the VR-03 by The Trinity.”
“Trinity? Never heard of that company before…” Leon muttered.
“That’s because it ain’t a company. It’s a joint venture between Mitsubishi, Nissan and Lamborghini,” Terry said with a slight hint of pride in his tone. “K.K. Loo told me that.”
“A joint venture? Why?” Leon asked. Terry felt he should continue to distract Leon with this topic. At least that way his mind would be preoccupied from his intentions of ‘accidentally’ pushing Adam down a flight of stairs or something.
“Imagine this. Take Mitsubishi Evo’s lineage of more than a decade of racing trial-and-errors. Mix that with Nissan’s expertise in sport tuners and efficiency like the Fairlady Z and the Nissan GTR. Then cross it all up with the pure awesome-ness that is the Lamborghini bloodline. What do you get?”
Leon thought for second before he finished calculating the gear-headed math.
“The ultimate car?” was all Leon could ask.
“Exactly! And guess what engine this baby runs on?”
“A V18?”
“Close. Well, barely. It runs on a DNG,”
Leon couldn’t help but gawk at that comment.
“No way,” he said.
“Think I’m pulling your leg? Read the article,” Terry said. Like clockwork, Leon immediately scanned the article regarding the rather impossible-sounding car.
“Whoah. It does use a DNG…there goes the petrol bills,” Leon commented, earning a chuckle from Terry.
“Yeah. But this thing’s worth more than your house and my house combined.”
Leon scanned more of the article before looking at Terry with a frown.
“This thing costs more than a million in pound sterling,” Leon said, looking utterly defeated.
“Yup. We can only dream of seeing it on Malaysian roads, let alone wish of owning one,” Terry remarked.
That sparked a thought in Leon’s head.
“Thanks Terry. You’re a life-saver,” Leon said before patting Terry’s back.
Puzzled, the boy only shrugged it off before leaning back on his seat as Leon began whispering feverently to Koharu.
At least he wasn’t angry anymore, right?
*
“Personally, Ken had nothing against Adam. He just wasn’t the type to go around antagonizing people. That was more to Leon’s forte.
But it was something in the way he looked, something within that guy that made him so dislikeable among the guys. The bitter irony is that the girls just couldn’t get enough of him.
“Dude…maybe he’s an incubus,” Jason suggested as he took a small bite out of his hot dog. Ken looked puzzled. “A what?”
“An incubus. A demonic being that takes the shape of an attractive male to seduce female humans,” Peter said, taking a mouthful of his mee goreng before stopping to look at Ken.
“But it’s unlikely that he’s one. Incubuses are rather…sneaky, in their approaches. This guy’s just a flirt,” Peter dismissed.
“So any news on Leon? I’m surprised he hasn’t slotted Adam yet,” Eric said, half chuckling.
The rest only shrugged. Neither he nor Koharu were seen by anyone since homeroom ended.
You think he’s setting a trap for Adam? Like strapping a charge of C4 on Adam’s car?” Jason looked thoughtful as he said that. Chris thought that Jason might as well have been looking like a total idiot when he said that.
Eric chuckled slightly at that comment. “C4? Where could Leon get that kinda firepower?” he asked, Jason shrugging at him this time.
“He’s got an M4, right? What’s stopping him from having military-grade explosives, then?”
“Well…” Chris said. Jason did have a point there.
“This isn’t something we need to worry about,” Peter said, the rest all looking at him. “Leon may be an impatient guy, but he’s not that hot-headed as to kill someone over a reason like this.”
The rest then ate in silence. Peter was right. Above all, Leon was still human. He had his own conscience. Didn’t he?
*
Was unrequited love really worth it? Was it really worth all the mixed feelings and emotions that came with it?
Every time Chris looked at Vivian’s smiling face, he couldn’t help but feel that she was worth it all.
Even now, as her dark eyes twinkled, Chris couldn’t help but smile rather sillily at it.
“What’s up with you?” she asked as she giggled at Chris’s goofy expression. Shaking his head, the archer then waved his hands in a ‘nothing’ expression.
“I swear, sometimes I don’t know where your mind wanders off to,” Vivian chuckled, looking out the class window.
Simple. It wanders off to thoughts about you... Chris’s mind said casually. A slight pang then hit Chris’s inner conscience. When would he finally get to actually say that to her instead of only letting those words run in his mind?
He looked away from her with a hollow expression. Reality was cruel, no doubt about that.
“Chris?” Apparently Chris’s sudden sulk didn’t go unnoticed, then.
“Hmm? Oh, it’s nothing,” the bespectacled boy said, forcing a smile.
Vivian continued to study Chris’s expression, knowing something was up.
“You can tell me what’s wrong, Chris. We’ve known each other long enough,” Vivian said, placing her hand on his.
Chris’s heart skipped a beat as her soft gentle touch melded against his own. Vivian hardly ever made physical contact with him, so this was something he had never grown accustomed to. He was just grateful no one else was near them.
“Well…it’s just that…” Chris muttered, his entire mind now clouded with utter gibberish.
“What? What is it?” she pressed on, tightening her grip on Chris’s hand. It only made him panic further.
He couldn’t even open his mouth because he was afraid the first thing he was going to blurt out was something stupid like “I love you.”
“Chris?” she pressed on, both metaphorically and literally. Chris could feel the pressure on his hand getting slightly heavier.
“Yeah, sorry,” the boy said, looking away.
“It’s something you can’t tell me, isn’t it?” Vivian asked, slowly realizing Chris was being reluctant to confide in her entirely.
“N-No, it’s not that. It’s just…I’m having a hard time, that’s all. Nothing for you to worry about,” he smiled again. He felt like such a stupid hypocrite, telling her that he was okay when in truth he was rather far from it.
“But I am worried, Chris. You seem rather…distracted, lately,” Vivian noted.
Since when have you taken so much interest in me? Chris thought, almost laughing at himself for doubting something he’s wished for so long.
“Yeah, well, I have a lot on my mind right now,” Chris dismissed in a tone that was slightly much rougher than he intended.
But instead of backing off, Vivian only crossed her arms and leered at him. “Enlighten me then,” she said. Chris had never seen such a serious look from her.
It was rather straight forward now. He could just brush this topic off or tell her the truth. However, there was a 3rd option.
“Alright, fine. I’ve got some stress from my studies, and some family matters,” Chris said. It was a downright lie, but if he could pull this one off, then all’s well that ends well.
But instead of lightening up, the girl with medium-length hair only pouted further.
“If you don’t want to tell me the truth, well…I can’t force it out of you,” Vivian said as she turned away, suddenly quite interested in college park’s lake.
“Listen, Viv, it’s not that I don’t wanna tell you. It’s just that…well…” Chris mumbled.
“Well? Y’know you can tell me anything, Chris. I’m someone you can trust,” she said comfortingly, turning to face him with those warm eyes of hers.
Chris couldn’t fight it any longer. He had to tell her something. The truth.
“Vivian, I’m worried about you,” Chris said, catching her by surprise by that comment.
“Worried? Why?” she asked.
Chris felt like it took forever to think of the next few words he was supposed to reply with. Would he tell her that he loved her?
“Adam.” Honestly, even Chris himself couldn’t explain why that boy’s name came up.
“Adam? Adam Lee? The new guy?” Vivian asked, half chuckling.
“Y-Yeah. I’m worried his schmoozing might eventually get to you. He’s no good news, Viv,” Chris warned, that particular excuse forming up in his mind almost instantaneously.
Vivian then laughed softly, making Chris almost jump out of his seat.
“Oh Chris, is that what’s bothering you? Adam hasn’t even spoken to me yet, although he’s already cornered half the girls on campus…” Vivian said, putting a curled finger to her mouth to stop herself from laughing further.
“Don’t worry. I won’t fall head-over-heels with someone just because he’s rich and good-looking. I’m not that shallow,” she said, leaning over to ruffle Chris’s hair, turning it into a mess.
“But that means you’re shallow nonetheless, right?” Chris asked in return.
Vivian bit her lips as the hand that was ruffling Chris then pulled on his ear.
“Very funny, Chris Hoh. Ha-ha-ha,” she said, tugging harder with each mocking laugh syllable she said.
“Ow! Stop it, Viv! That hurts!” Chris cried out in mock pain. It didn’t hurt, but it was a safe bet to play along with the game.
“Oh quite whining. I’m not really pulling you, you lil’ baby,” she teased, Chris smiling sillily on the inside. Even if it was unintentional, Vivian just called him baby. It was a lame thought, but hey, who cares, right?
“It’s fun to play along though, ain’t it?” Chris said with a toothy grin, Vivian laughing at Chris’s expression.
“Gosh you look so funny!” she said, clutching her sides as she let go of Chris’s red ear. “I swear, you’re like the little brother I always wanted.”
That phrase was a double-edged sword for Chris. It meant that he was close enough to her to the point she almost considers him as family, but it also meant that she may not want him as something more than just a little brother.
“Couldn’t I be something more?”
Vivian stopped laughing as she looked up to him.
“Well, you’re not that little, right? The term ‘little brother’ doesn’t literally mean that you’re little,” she said with a tinkle in her voice.
“No-no, Viv. I meant couldn’t I mean more to you than just being your ‘little brother’?” he asked. If that wasn’t treading on dangerous waters, Chris didn’t know what was.
She looked straight at him for a good second or 2, Chris not able to tell if she was thinking or just plain stunned by Chris’s remark.
Then a smile curled up her lips. No, not the sneering types some girls or the sympathetic ones others did. No, Vivian was actually smiling warmly at him. It was a good start, to say the least.
“Well, it’d be really awkward for you to be my little sister, wouldn’t it?” she asked with a giggle as Chris withheld his laughter, which turned into a snort.
Vivian then clutched her sides and laughed harder at Chris’s expression.
“Oh Chris! You look so funny!” she said, tears forming in her eyes.
Raising his eyebrows, Chris then leaned back into his chair as he sighed internally. At least she didn’t get the meaning behind his question earlier. Or did she?
Chris never found out, because both their phones rang at the same time. It was a text message, and its contents took Chris by surprise. And when he looked at Vivian’s expression, he gathered that he wasn’t the only one to be taken aback.
Attention all students!
Adam Lee has been challenged to a race-off by an anonymous individual!
Meet at the Archway racing circuit located just 3 km form campus at 7pm tonight!
P.S: This is a legitimate race-off in a certified racing circuit. It is in no way illegal!
Chris only looked at Vivian once more before speaking.
“Are you by any chance doing anything at 7pm?”
Vivian only shook her head as she smirked.
“I’m free. Why, planning to take me on a date?”
Once again, Chris felt like he was on Cloud 9.
“In a way…” he said, trying to hide his rather goofy grin.
“Fine then. Plan on taking me somewhere fancy?” Vivian asked with a twinkle in her eyes. Chris only shrugged.
“How does a race sound to you?”
Vivian only chuckled before getting up, Chris following suit.
“Boy, you sure do know how to show a girl a good time, eh?” she asked with a friendly sarcastic poke.
Chris only grinned at her as he shrugged yet again. The prospect of going on an informal date with Vivian was already enough to make Chris’s day.
*
The large lights from the race track made the entire place unnaturally bright as the dark night engulfed the areas after it in its natural shroud of darkness. Peter felt it was rather…unsettling.
Many students had gathered for the so-called race-off that was supposed to take place. It was only 6.45pm, but the starting line was almost filled with students, among who was Adam Lee, who leaned against his striking yellow Lamborghini Murcielargo.
“So when is he gonna show his face?” he asked the crowd, who only shrugged. Peter himself had no idea as he leaned back against one of the barriers.
“Hey, have any of you guys seen Leon?” Chris asked as Jason and Eric snickered at the fact that Vivian was with him.
“Well, not since homeroom. Why? You think he’s the mysterious adversary?” Ken said, crossing his arms as he scanned through the crowd.
“His car’s in the workshop, remember? Even if it wasn’t, a Lambo against a Toyota isn’t a competition. It’s a slaughter-fest…” Eric commented.
The rest only stood there in silence. It was almost 7pm, and the rest heard or saw nothing that hinted the appearance of the competitor.
“Think he got cold feet?” Jason asked.
“Oh he’s got feet, alright,” Peter said as he spotted something moving up the starting line. “And apparently that’s all he’s got. Just feet.”
Most of the people from the crowd now noticed the figure that was walking from the dark unlit part of the raceway, like some figure suddenly emerging from the darkness.
“Whoah, is that him?” Jason asked, trying to get a better view.
The figure was slowly making his way forward, his face still obscured by the darkness. What made it worse was that he was wearing all black, as far as the eye could see.
Only when he walked up to the starting line, where the first row of lights shone, did his face come out of obscurity. And his identity shocked everyone.
“Leon?!” many people asked with such disbelief. As it was, Leon Woon stood at the starting line with his arms crossed; only looking haughtily at Adam, who was already laughing.
“You? You’re the ‘anonymous adversary?” Adam asked, laughing louder and louder.
“Yeah, I am. Got a problem with that?” Leon asked, the steady rumble of chatter among the crowd beginning to drown out Leon and Adam.
“Yeah. You don’t have a car, my friend! You come here on foot and that’s how you expect to fight me?” Adam asked, several people joining Adam in his laughing fest.
“Well…” Leon said, ruffling his hair. “I wouldn’t say I didn’t come with car. I did. It’s right here,” Leon said, pointing behind him.
Right there and then this whole race-off was beginning to look like some sick joke as there was clearly nothing behind Leon.
“You need to get your brain readjusted, buddy,” Adam scoffed.
“Your eyes deceive you, Lee,” Leon simply replied, arms crossed again. He then looked behind him.
“Ben, Gwen, deactivate active camouflage,” he said to what appeared to be the tar road.
For a fraction of a second Peter actually thought that Leon had lost his mind, if not for what happened next.
Two beams of light shone from the middle of the air behind Leon, as if they just apparated there. Then a soft hissing sound emitted from that spot.
Jumping over the barrier to get a better view, what Peter saw next blurred his definition between fantasy and reality.
As if it were by magic, white matter began to occupy the otherwise empty space behind Leon. In the span of a few seconds, what was unmistakably a car began to take form as it was unveiled in what appeared to be pixel-by-pixel.
Once it had completely materialized, the car itself shone it all its white-coated glory against the already-bright enough stadium lights.
“Oh. My. God,” Jason gasped. He wasn’t the only one. Many were still utterly speechless as to how a car suddenly apparated into existence before them.
Then suddenly, words began to appear on the doorside of the car, as if it were projected onto it. It took Chris a second to realize in sheer awe that it actually came from the door itself.
The Trinity VR-03
Vortege’
Those 2 words were emblazoned in jet black along the doors of the car as Leon walked over to lean on it.
Adam, like everyone else in the area, was still speechlessly agape.
“Now,” Leon said, cracking his knuckles.
“Shall we discuss the prize of this race?”

A/N: There! Chapter 6 is now done!
Sorry if the ending felt weak for you guys. It’s almost 2 in the morning and I’m getting tired, and I don’t wish to finish it during the next day.
Okay, so if you guys did not get what just happened, the ultimate machine on 4 wheels, the Vortege’, just made its debut in my novel by turning off its active camouflage (invisibility function).
I know, you’re all wondering how can a car turn invisible without the help of a certain Mr. Potter and his cloak?
I promise to explain everything in Chapter 7. Till then, I suggest you view my blog’s earlier posts to see what the Vortege’ looks like. Yes, I have a colored illustration of it =)
Cheers.
