I cut out a piece of my mama’s old drape,

tied it round my neck,

paint an S on my chest,

and people think I’m Superman in the flesh, but I ain’t.

I’m just a regular guy,

I don’t know how to fly,

there’s no X-ray behind my eye.

I ain’t bulletproof if you shoot me I’ll bleed,

I ain’t got super strength or super speed.

I’m just me, a human being,

like you, only worse, cause I’m cursed,

lost and alone on this Earth.

Like Superman but not the hero you see,

like the alien filled with insecurity.

I act like your demands don’t phase me

but baby failure drives me crazy,

you could lose me to thoughts of how worthless I am.

I’m nothing compared to them.

You need to love me or let me fall,

cause girl I’ve given it my all.

I’m not a hero baby there’s only so much I can take.

Don’t push me too far girl you know what’s at stake.

Save me! Or let me go before my world falls apart…
