The Fall

I walked in the garden
of beautiful green
in vapid composure
stood creature obscene

fully my height
but not of same kind
I quickly took wing
but it followed behind

tolerate and study
with laconic disguise
ask of the mountains
proclaim to the skies

we lulled each together
to break from our race
right was no matter
sweet was the taste

soft was the rapture
upon beaded skin
light was the breath
upon us should hinge

I could see all its wants
the shame on its face
when we shattered the rule
felt our disgrace

What on earth could it be!?
What is it called?
How far has it come?
How far can it fall?
