Dawn of a New Era
Chapter 1: Welcome to the Future
I saw humans pacing, some running, and many screaming. I, on the other hand was prowling the streets late tonight, in the middle of all the chaos that this earth was subjected to. Many 'Perfects' of sorts roamed the dank streets around me looking for new experiments to toy with, searching for new looks and adaptations.
Around here in year 2050, Perfects were the new black. They were humans that subjected themselves to severe body modifications wanting to achieve total genetic perfection. Now a days it was rare to find a human without modifications. Everybody, no matter the age got surgeries to "benefit" their health and social life; whether it is a pimple-free face, new organs, resizing of breasts, stomachs, moving tattoos, and skin grafts.
This was all made possible by the 'Newcomers.' Years ago a group of "creatures" came to Earth. Nobody knew who or what they were, but almost everyone was willing trust. Trust can be a malicious thing, especially when we didn't even know what the intent of the Newcomers was. The Newcomers granted humans protection and advancements in medical procedures, but for a price, as with every good thing that you are given in life. You see, in exchange for protection, advancements, which allow humans to become perfect, every 10 years something happens. Now the Newcomers base what happens on the worlds' reproduction rate. Every 10 years, more than 75% of the worlds Perfect and Imperfect population is wiped out.
It's my job to stop it. A team of doctors and I have collaborated together to produce a serum that will change all the worlds' population back to Imperfect. If this happens the Newcomers cannot pull through with their plan; it's all in the fine print of our intergalactic contract. "If and only if the plant Earth keeps using alien technology to produce genetically modified humans, there will be a mass wipeout of the population every decade."
Henceforth, the only logical way to stop this abomination from happening is to change every human in the world back to their genetically impure self. The problem is though, is that it's the year 2050, and it has been another decade. We have three weeks to produce a working serum to mass distribute to the world. If this doesn't work we don't know what will happen this time. If the team of doctors I'm working with dies, it's over. My name is Dawn Wayland and welcome to future.
