A Different Me
Today I've changed
But it's far too late
Because every town feels the same
I'm different
You're still the same old you
All those years out the window they flew
Used to play hide and seek
We'd spend all night on the phone, talk about what we wanted to do
Now I watch the sun and moon play
An eternal game of hide and seek
Sitting on my porch, watching the moonlight slowly creep
Reminisce about the good times gone
So many memories in my head swirl around
A tempest of touch, taste, smell, sight, and sound
You chose your path and I chose mine
The footsteps set in stone
I used to laugh, you used to cry
Now it seems we've switched sides
I lie awake waiting for your call
But it never comes
All the places we've been
All the faces we've seen
Now we go our separate ways
The same old you, a different me
