Rest In Peace.
Who knew a world like this could exist,
Of terror, of grief, and of happiness,
My chest collapses,
And I stare at you just a little more.
You’re empty, you’re broken,
You’re everything I adore.
I can’t begin to explain how twisted that is,
But when I look at your troubles,
I see humanity, sympathy,
I see reality.
And with your troubles come theirs,
A single difference stops your heart.
They’re miserable because they’re not.
A contradiction, possibly,
But, by god, it makes so much sense to me,
Their stories scream “Help, listen!”
The tears in their eyes continue to glisten,
And you can’t bear to hear it anymore.
Their stories, their lives,
Yet, you continue to explore.
Unsatisfied, you wonder why they sob so loud,
And yet seem so proud,
Self hatred lies contradicting their glorified smirks,
The attention you’ll never see capturing them,
It eats at you until it physically hurts,
And damn them if they never learn.
You’re dying, you’re lying,
You’re trying your best.
Now, don’t mistake my words,
Even the happiest of people have problems,
So why don’t they reach for that?
Why reach for the sad, the horrific,
Why not be heroic?
You’ll swallow their words,
Believing none of which you taste,
Sour lies taunting your sweet truth,
One day you’ll break open,
Regurgitating all of what they’ve fed you,
And you’ll shatter.
Another horrific tale to keep inside yourself,
Guilt gnawing at your brain,
Self-esteem plummeting,
And you question your every move.
You hold blame, you hold anger,
Until insanity finally grasps your hand.
Who knew a world like this could exist?
A life ruined, your sanity amiss,
A good person’s soul gone comatose,
You took reality in too high of a dose.
Your mind is empty; your body, a shell,
And you’re just another sob story for them to tell.
