when u perform with ur instrument, u always rock most of it but inevitably there's that 1 part or 2 that u randomly screw especially if u never have be4. Like Murphey's Law: u'll mess it up bc it's the only thing left. aka Musician's Curse Perfectionism

Musician's Curse (Sonnet #5)

by Elektra

----------------------

Yay! Time for juries again. You ready?

After those months of practice, strut your stuff!

Take a breath, just keep the tempo steady.

Tough song; hope your accompanist can bluff

----------------------

Nervousness strikes; what if your chops die out?

Good thing you don't have to memorize it

Let your fingers do the work, have no doubt

Here's one of the hard licks; pray and commit!

----------------------

Some parts are the greatest! But others suck.

Perfectionism, a curious thing

You should be proud, but you feel like bad luck.

When it's done, mistakes are all you're thinking.

----------------------

Well, that's that then. So much for ambition

Guess that's the curse of being a musician.
