Prologue

It was four o'clock in the city of Gastnich, and everyone in the small neighborhood knew what that meant. It was story time!

All the parents brought their kids to the house of the best storyteller in the city - Old Man Ardon - while they went out shopping for their respective trinkets and other material things. He didn't have a problem with it. It gave him something to look forward to in his old age. All he did was sit around his home anyway.

Despite his lack of activities, Ardon was quite the imaginative old man, as the adults would say. Though most of them wouldn't know of his tales… How could they? It was as if the world had been turned back to before it all happened.

The old man made his way to the front porch of his rather small shack of a home, sitting on the topmost step that led to the main walkway of his home. Around him, were a large group of kids ranging in ages from three to fourteen, eagerly awaiting the man's stories of wonder and imagination.

Preempting with a cough, he spoke up, looking around the crowd. “Why, hello there children. And how are you today?” He asked, a smile creeping up on his face, revealing old and slightly crooked teeth. “We're fine, Mister Ardon.” They chorused. Ardon smiled. “Well, I suppose we should get to what you came here for, hm?” The children nodded eagerly in response.

“Have I told you the story of the Lost City of Osaos?” He asked. One kid piped up in the back. “Yeah, we've heard it before!” He answered, quite proud. Ardon chuckled. “Well, how about the Lochian Tales?” He asked, a glint in his eyes. The children looked surprised. They'd never heard of that before. What was a Lochia anyway?

Ardon smiled. “Judging by your silence, I believe that's a no...” He paused to cough again, before letting out a sigh. “Well, I shall tell you...”

It all started long ago...before any of you or your parents had even been conceived by the Gods…
