The Sense of Hope

The feeling of hope is a deep desire

So powerful a perception, some truly feel

Hope burns forever within us, an eternal fire

We can see the doom, hope takes us higher

Through the inevitable, always real

The feeling of hope is a deep desire

It sings within us, the strength of a choir

Fate by which the devil is left to deal

Hope burns forever within us, an eternal fire

Some brush its borders, wood to the pyre

Or dance by pessimism, merely spin the wheel

The feeling of hope is a deep desire

Some refuse to believe, let themselves tire

One needs to embrace it, sense the zeal

Hope burns forever within us, an eternal fire

In the face of anguish, the thorns and briars

Fight with will, traipse after fate’s heels

The feeling of hope is a deep desire

Hope burns forever within us, an eternal fire
