The question was asked
Pondered on, critiqued
And analyzed
Still, we stare

Assuming what lay beneath
The unspoken words
The silent glances
The careful touches

Between us both, a longing
But, not wanting to mar
Our distinguished personas, or
What others thought, we kept quiet

Debating the quandary
With guarded expressions
Calculated words, and watchful eyes
The penultimate is upon us

Letting go of inhibition
Resolving to release all embarrassment
Lay bare for each other
Nothing to veil what was once hidden

Between us all is shared
Physical, emotional, spiritual
And leaving nothing to chance
A secret pact to bury this in our minds

Another day, another desire
But, the linger of your taste
And the tenderness of my touch
Permeate all that we do

Another question was asked
Pondered on, alluded to
And noted
And now, we stare
