I wrote this poem after I found out a friend of mine made a very poor decision. It really upset me, and I found comfort in sunshine.

Legs weak
Hollow breaths
Unsure.
I disapprove
Though it is not my choice to make
I don't understand
How you can do this
I am powerless
Wandering
Alone
Confused.
Find myself here:
A hallway full of light
It fills my mind
My heart
and my soul.
I am calmed.
I find solitude in the corner
The light reflecting off the tiled floor
I lay my head back against the wall
Listening:
Birds chirping outside the window,
And a hymn floating through the air
Echoing distant and lingering with my soul.
I breathe, smiling
I watch the clouds as they're tickled by the sun
The birds perched on the corner of the roof
Watching me.
I wander no longer
As comfort fills my soul
No longer alone –
For I am with God.
