My Old Best Friend

Know a girl who’s changed so much
After senior year, we have lost touch
But I still call her a best friend

Married young, but not in love
Don’t know what they were thinkin’ of
Now things are so hard for them

And she doesn’t even know

She doesn’t even know

Her guy is such a hypocrite
Says he’s saved, but it doesn’t fit
The way he acts and treats her

Wanna tell her he’ll be untrue
“You gotta find someone who respects you
Who’ll take care of and love on you.”

And she doesn’t even know

She doesn’t even know

Though the light of her true self is dim
We still know she’s too good for him
Now if she’d realize the same

Know a girl who’s changed so much
After senior year, we have lost touch
But I still call her a best friend
