"Are you going to bed or you just going to keep reading your smut novel all night?" A voice asked me. I pulled my face from book see it Nick. He was standing in the door of frame of my study with his arms cross his chest. He was dressed down in a pair of gray sweat pants and a plain white t-shirt that showed off his very well muscled psychic. I could help, but stare at him and somehow he knew that too.

I shook my head to clear the dirty thoughts from my mind. "I am not reading smut," I lifting the cover of my book to him. It was one of my favorite books Pride & Prejudice I might have read the dam thing over a hundred times and each time I found something new that I had noticed before. "That is if you want to call Jane Austen smut."

"Whatever, its eighteenth century smut," Nick smirked.

I laughed and sat the book in my lap. I rubbed my eyes and looked at the big clock over the fire place that showed it nearly ten at night. I had spent nearly the whole day just sitting in the study reading staying away from Karl and Nick who seemed more than happy enough to leave me alone. The study it's self was one of my favorite rooms in the house it was one of the smaller rooms on the first floor of the house just right of the formal living room. It has wall to wall custom wood panel walls and bookshelves that were always full of books and random things that have collected over the years. There was large fire place at the far wall and on either side of it sat two over sized leather arm chairs that faced each other in which I now found myself sitting in.

"So, what brings you down here?"

"I like to know each any every room of a place before I go to bed," Nick answered. "Oh, and I wanted to give you this back."

He uncrossed his arms and reviled my dream journal. He walked over and handed it to me. "Oh, thank you," I ran my fingers over the cloth binding of the note book in memory of all the things I have been dreamt over the last few months were all written down inside of this note book. I have always kept journals in a way of recalling everything for later use I had hundreds of them all in a box under my bed. "Did you..."

"Read it, yes and by the way you can't spell worth a damn," He smiled leading on the arm of the arm chair a crossed from me.

"Did you and Karl find anything useful," I asked placing the note book on the end table next to me.

"A few more details about when this attack might happen, you mentioned that moon above you was half full, which does not happen until the end of the week."

"Okay, I guess that is good to know. I don't know if I should be relieved or be worried about this," I wondered

"You only have anything to worry about," Nick answered.

"Don't I? I feel like I have a lot to worry about," I stood up from the chair and start pacing the room. "First off I feel, no I know that Karl is hiding something from me."

Nick just shrugged. "We all hid something Jamie, Karl has to have his reasons for doing so."

"I know that, but I can feel that both you and Karl are not telling me something," I cross my arms and look down at Nick.

"I am not hiding a thing you just haven't asked me the right questions is all," He answered very vaguely with a smirk on his face. If he wasn't going to play my human rules then I would just start playing by wolf rules by trying to play a power card on him.

"Please don't dance around the question a better man would just come right out and tell me what I needed to know," I narrowed my eyes at him. I could see a gold hint in his eyes as the wolf in him was very pushing its way forward my comment hid him this time. "Don't make me try to get a vision off you to find out what I need to know."

"You can do that?"

"Yes, but I can't always predict what I might see. I could see what you've done which is what I want or I can see something you haven't done yet," I explained. I placed my hands on my hips. "Care to take a chance?"

Nick stood up from the chair and cocked his head to the side. "So you have a fifty-fifty chance at getting what you want? What do I get out of this? He asked.

"Nothing much maybe a possible lead on the guy whose after me or me just finding out some horrible thing about your past," I answered honestly. I blinked once and Nick was standing only inches away from me. My heart skipped a beat.

"If you think it might help, and then go right away," He smiled at me with his eyes shimmering still ever so lightly with gold.

I pulled my gaze away from his not wanting to push him anymore than I had. I knew he was playing with me, but whether or not he was trying scary me I didn't know. I swallowed the dry lump in my throat and regained my composure. I slowly reached down and took both of his hands in mine then brought them toward my chest. I closed my eyes and concentrated. A slow breath in, then out and I just let it come to me.

At first it was emotions a feeling of frustration and anger that flowed off of him, then it quickly changed to interest, excitement, and arousal all of which was directed towards me. Then vision hit me like a wave crashing on a beach during a heavy storm it nearly knocked me off my feet.

He had to get there, that much he knew as he ran full out through the thick set of woods in the dead of night on cold winter night. The snow was only ankle deep and was hindering his running. His nose flared as he caught her scent was like a thick perfume he could not resist this time he knew he was getting closer. "He can't have her," He mumbles as he runs.

The image shifted to another place.

He's standing at the edge of a clearing and a scene I knew all too well. It was me being attacked by a man I used to know. He only wants a seconds before he yells, "Let her go now!"

The image shifted again, with Nick looking down at me. I wasn't moving, and I was covered in blood. A loud howl erupts from Nick's throat that echoes for miles.

My eyes snap open to see Nick's face staring down at me with worry. If I hadn't been holding Nick's hands I would have hit the floor for sure, seeing as soon as I starting falling back he quickly latched on to me. "Are you okay? Here take a seat," He helped me into the near by arm chair. "What did you see?"

I pulled my hands to my face and whipped away the sweat that had started to gather there. "You...,"I started sputtered out.

"Hey, I herd a noise is everything alright down here?" Karl asked as he came rushing in to the room. His hair was wet as if he had just ran from the shower and grabbed whatever was around which happened to be just a pair of gray sweat pants.

Great I just worrying him more if I tell him what I saw now, I shook my head. "Everything is fine, Karl. I just tripped my legs were slightly numb from sitting too long and everything is fine," I lied. "Isn't that right Nick?"

I gave him a look hoping he'd to go along with me. "Yeah, she just tripped as I came in through the door," He went along with me. I breathed a mental sigh of relief. "I think I am the bad guy this time Karl."

"Oh, okay, good," Karl sighed. He ran is hand through his wet hair. "I think I am going to go to bed if you got everything taken care of down here then."

Nick gave him a firm nod and then Karl left the study. Once he was up stairs Nick turned back to me and I could tell he wanted some answers, but I wasn't in the mood to give it too him. "I so don't need this right now," I stood up and headed for the door, but he cut me off. "Come on."

"What did you see?"

"Nothing that would be considered to be too embarrassing, but I don't think I can talk about it right now," I tried to side step past him but Nick still blocked my path with his arms gripping tightly in the door frames. I just looked up at him and could tell he wasn't going to let me leave without answer. I let out a low growl which only made Nick look at me funny. "If you have to know I saw you okay. You were in the clearing on the other side of the vision I have been having."

He relaxed his grip on the door behind him. "You mean I am the guy yelling let her go, in the other vision then?"

"Yes."

"Why...would I..."

He rubbed his chin trying to think of a reason. "I don't know maybe it's because I arouse you in some way that you would want to keep me all to yourself," I hinted. His brown eyes went wide and with that I pushed past him then quickly made my way up to my room all before he could recover from my very direct comment. I couldn't help but smile to myself as I drifted off to sleep that night in to the same dream.
