If he whispered in your ear
If he told you one more time
That he loves you, that he wants you, that he needs you
Then turned around and smacked you to the ground in a fit of drunken rage
What would you do?

If he promised the booze would go
And swore to quit his habits
And told you that he loved you
Then spent the night at the bar and came home cursing you to hell
What would you do?

How far are you willing to take it?
How far will you let him go?
You’re crushed under the weight of his threats and his anger
You’re drowning in your own pain

No one sees through his smile
They don’t know who he is
You suffer and bleed
And you’re covered in bruises
Held down by chains while he roams free
