Rain

Summary: A girl is different than others her age, she has someone always with her, and the strange thing is; they both have the same eye color, which is pale blue, almost white. Danger and romance is just around the corner.

Chapter 1: Help

‘Run, run, just out of sight for now’ I’ve been thinking this now for a while but, even though I keep running, I fall, and then bleed. And then the people behind me seem to catch up.

All this heavy rain wasn’t helping me at all.

My name is Zahra, I know, odd name for a 16 year old girl. I have black hair, so black that I could camouflage into the night sky. My eyes are pale blue, almost white that sometimes people ask me what my eye color is. I’m a good height for my age and I am fairly tanned even though it’s almost raining where I live.

Right now, I’m running away from this “gang” that had spotted me while I was out for a jog. They told me to come over with them, but I knew that I would end up getting hurt somehow. So I ran. They started running after me when I was about 20 meters away.

I don’t know how long I have been running for; all I know is that I might faint soon.

I’m thirsty, tired and my legs and head hurts. I’m almost into town now, so they won’t follow me there, most people in my town could turn you around with just one glance. And if that didn’t work they would run at you and kick your ass if they thought you a threat to the town. Lucky me, that my parents moved us here. I like it, besides for right now.

“Ouch” I fell again, this time breaking the skin on my knees. I checked them over, just a little scrape. At least it isn’t as bad as my arm. It pretty much has a 2 inch gash, because I had hooked my arm on something that was metal, thick, sharp and bent so it would be harder for me to get away, I did though. It was bleeding so much that it soaked through my rain jacket then ran down my arm to my hand then dripped onto the road and disappeared.

“Hey! Wait for us!” Oh no they found me.

I looked over my shoulder; they were about 10 meters away now.

I tried standing up, but my knees gave out, and I fell back down again.

One of them; put their hand on my shoulder. I stiffened and put on my poker face, a mask do they wouldn’t us my emotions against me.

“Can’t run anymore little girl?” A different voice came closer to my ear, and I could smell clone and alcohol.

A sharp stab of pain came to my back and my body fell forward.

I felt my face and any other exposed skin, come in contact with the wet and cold pavement that I have been running on, for a long time.

“Hm, cute, but not what I was looking for” a deep voice, one that sounded nicer yet still drunk.

One of them punched my back a couple times and after they had finished I coughed up blood.

“I think she will be okay. For now” Then they walked away laughing.

The rain then began to ease up.

I heard more footsteps after a few minutes.

They came closer and then stopped right next to me. I opened my eyes only slightly.

My vision was blurred from the loss of blood and from the rain that was still falling.

All I saw was a shadow and eyes that were the same color as mine.

They picked me up in bridal style, the rain still falling. They whispered something in my ear that made me feel better than I was before. Then I fell asleep, dreaming in the arms of somebody I did not know.
